Title: WoW talk
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
I thought it might be an idea to start a dedicated thread rather than take over the last computer game thread completely
willowroolz - February 22, 2007 10:11 AM (GMT)
Nice way of dodging my anti-Pally comment  :p

Don't know what you mean :whistling: :shifty:
Pallys rool :D
willowroolz - February 22, 2007 10:28 AM (GMT)
Meh :p
I think a warlock or mage would be handy. We need another ranged attacker :ponder:

Ooh, a thread of our very own :ph43r:

Them's duelling words, yellow belly :p
Like to see how your armour does when I'm ripping the bejesus out of with my cat form and loading myself up with healing spells :snooty:

Warlocks are great fun, but mine's over on the Horde side of things so that's no good :ermm:
Hopefully Jase will like the idea. Beldin's a lvl 15 lock, though :)
Sent messages to a couple of others last night about doing Deadmines, see what they have to say. It's possible next weekend might be easier to organise than the coming one - it's a little bit short notice for everyone I expect :ponder:
Paul, any idea how long Deadmines would take to do? And there's no level cap on it, is there?
Hippy - February 22, 2007 11:01 AM (GMT)
What is this deadmines thingy again
I've got a couple of dungeon ones I need a hand on which need level 20+ iirc
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 11:02 AM (GMT)
Depends if we want to do all the Defias stuff leading up to Deadmines.
Deadmines itself can be done in a about an hour I think.
There isn't a level cap, it's recommended for lvls 17- 26 iirc.

Oh right, I saw it mention lvls 17-24 but I figured that was the level of the enemies in it :)
So it wouldn't matter if we did it next week instead and some of us (Dave  ) got past lvl 24? :ponder:
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 11:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah, basically that's the level of the mobs inside (elite once you get into the instanced part).
A good way of making money is to solo a dungeon that you are about 10 levels too powerful for and sell off all the dropped loot in the auction house :D

Deadmines is an instanced dungeon in Westfall :)
One of my quests requires going there. We can do it in a party of up to 5 players, I believe. I'm pretty sure Bytor would be up for it, if he hasn't done it already, plus the Dutch guy whose name I can't spell (Angeviilt oslt  ). Could always ask Beldin along but he was only lvl 15 whereas the other two are both lvl 22 at the moment :)

Hippy - February 22, 2007 11:16 AM (GMT)
Ah, I popped in to Westfall last night to kill a dust devil
If anyone fancies it I have to kill an out of control mechanical gadget in Gnomeregan (sp) at some stage - seems to have lvl 24 things in

Don't like Gnomeregan. It's evil.

I think I may need to go there at some point. Why's it evil Paul? :ponder:
Shall we try Deadmines first and see how the group goes?
I think we'd be top heavy on tanks - we'd have two Rogues, a Druid, a Hunter and a Pally - but hey ho :ermm:
Hippy - February 22, 2007 11:24 AM (GMT)
I'm happy to go with the flow :)
You know me, multiplayered right up
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 11:25 AM (GMT)
It's always useful to have more than one tanking class. Another ranged/DOT class would be nice but
Gnomeregans just large and easy to get lost in.

Dave, it's not this quest you're talking about is it? This is the one I have, and it mentions Gnomeregan but the quest itself is actually in Deadmines
Click
Hippy - February 22, 2007 11:56 AM (GMT)
Tanks
If it helps I can stand back and do the whole spell thang
The Gnomeregan quest is one from Ironforge :)
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 12:01 PM (GMT)
Tank = someone who can stand there taking heavy damage keeping mobs occupied while other party members pick them off without being attacked themselves.
willowroolz - February 22, 2007 12:06 PM (GMT)
Please tell me we don't have to discuss tactics

:lmao:
So looks like I won't be charging in and clawing the crap out of things then :ponder:
Unless anyone else in the party can heal & res people
That reminds me - I need to buy more maple seeds as I can't res without them and I've only got 10 or so atm :)

I was going to say "no wonder Dave keeps telling us he won the argument!" :p
It all sounds a bit over-complicated to me, but I guess the only one who can answer that is Paul, cos he's done them before :)

I can do magic ranged attacks but if I'm s'posed to heal people as well that might not be a brilliant plan
Unless I get to the stage where I can make decent mana potions which I can neck between kills/heals I guess :ponder:

Paladins aren't known for hanging back in a fight. Their attack spells are up close and personal and the healing is more geared to keeping themselves alive or as an emergency if there aren't any other healing types about.
willowroolz - February 22, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
This is going to kill Dave's gameplan, he'll be totally out of character :lmao:
goth willow fan - February 22, 2007 02:06 PM (GMT)
As for group tactics it's really a case of common sense (so we're screwed! ;) )
So long as everyone knows what their class can bring to a fight, there is an agreed policy for pulling (ie one person does it all) and group members don't go charging off in all manner of different directions, everything should be fine.

Sounds like someone we know, Paul
In an instance, do the monsties respawn after we've killed them?
I guess, as the only one with ranged abilities, I'd have to be the puller?

Yes things do respawn but theres usually more than enough time to get clear of an area.
Hunters or Mages usually do the pulling.
One thing, if there is a Warlock in the party they must not use fear otherwise you could have an entire dungeon full of adds decending on you.
