Exactly! Thats what cracks me up about the media here and how they always sensationalise everything - can you imagine what would happen if we got this much snow here :lmao:

The thing that I find so stupid is that now someone from goverment has admitted that as a country we struggle to cope with snow! Now here is the stupid part and my question Why? It's not as if snow is something new to the UK it happens every year at point. That should mean we are one the best prepared surely?

Well, according to Scotrail, it's the "wrong kind of snow"

I had no idea it came in varieties. Can I order some of the Russian "Vodka flavoured" variety then?

The Seattle area is notorious for nearly shutting down at the first snowflake. The acknowledged cause is the dearth of heavy machinery to clear away snow. That's because snow falls are so infrequent -- maybe a few days every year -- that the local government can't justify buying the equipment just to let it stand idle for 359 days of the year.

We had a lengthy (by Seattle standards) snowfall last month. Accompanied by gusty winds, many areas were without electricty for 1 to 6 days. Boy, was there an outcry after that!
