Oooh, thanks Melian!!

Right, after watching the first episode, I know that I am hooked!

Loved the teleportation guy (is it Yuko?) I thought he was really funny

:lmao:

Did not see the flying brother coming at all :o

The girl putting her hand in the disposal unit was gross :x I just knew trhat guy was going to be her Dad!

The single Mum looks a bit handy :fear: :D

Ooooh, so much to say, Iont know where to begin!

Excellent cliffhanger, so I just know this is going to be a great prog! I know the first episodes are often slower, to create storylines and introduce characters but I can slready tell what a fantastic show this is going to be! How many episodes are in Season 1, btw?

melian - January 27, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
There will be 22 episodes in this first season, and the show has already been picked up for a second season

The guy that can 'bend space and time' is Hiro

Glad to have you on board the 'Heroes' bandwagon :yahoo:

willowroolz - January 28, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
Pretty much my reaction when I saw it too, Sam

If you like it this much now just wait... ;)

I love this show, and I know that once it's first episode is broadcast tomorrow, more people will too. So I'm bumping this topic back to the top. For all the new fans discussions :D If you haven't seen it yet, you absolutely have to. It's fantastic.

Wow! Loved it, but I knew I would. I brought myself up on Marvel comics, and the love for Superheroes has never left me.

Terrific stuff. I'm hopelessly confused by Sci-fi's coverage though... am I right in thinking that they are showing episodes one and two every night for a few days, and presumably settling in to a weekly showing?

Anyway, the best episode one I've seen in ages!

Yeah, they are showing the first two episodes several times this week, trying to hook as many noobs as possible. It's regular slot will be Mondays at 10pm

I rewatched this myself last night, as if just by doing so, I was supporting the channel and the show. I know I've downloaded every ep so far from the states, but there's nothing like watching it on a widescreen telly, it gives the show the sense of scale that I feel it deserves.

Thanks Jamie!

I had no idea what was going on... the Sky Guide showed two episodes a night, and I thought at first they were all different until I read the Sci Fi Channel ad in my SFX. As good as the show is, not sure I could keep up the pace of two episodes a night, especially with my tempramental Sky + box! Relieved now. :)

But the fact that Sci-Fi don't broadcast in widescreen undermines that. I lost count of the number of times two characters were talking to each other and one or other of them was off the side of the screen

I also noticed how pronounced Mohinder's accent was in the first episode compared to now

Well I thought I may as well join you all with this, I am slightly behind though as I don't have Sky. I got the first two episodes and I think they require another watch to familiarise myself with the characters, I think like The 4400 it will become compulsory viewing.

Having watched the first two episodes I give it 10/10 for its multicultural mix of characters, 5/10 for its storyline, and 1/10 for atmosphere. I'm not really hooked, I can take it or leave it. However this could change with time, as there's loads of potential.

Bloody good opener imo :)

Introduced the characters, made them instantly interesting and made me want to watch the next one :)

US TV's Heroes is hit for BBC Two
The UK terrestrial debut of fantasy drama Heroes captured an audience of 4.3m on BBC Two.
The show, which was named programme of the year by US television critics earlier this week, was only beaten by ITV1's Wire In The Blood.

The crime drama, starring Robson Green, drew an audience of 4.8m viewers to the same 2100 BST timeslot.

Heroes, a critical and ratings success in the US, was recently nominated for eight Emmy awards.

Superhuman

The nightly edition of Big Brother on Channel 4 pulled in 3m viewers at the same time.

Heroes also beat BBC One's Crimewatch Solved, which pulled in an average of 3m viewers.

The entire first season of Heroes, shown on the NBC network in the US, was aired on the UK's digital Sci-Fi channel earlier this year.

The second series is due to premiere in the US in September, with a set of spin-offs called Heroes: Origins also set to be broadcast.

Heroes follows the story of a group of ordinary people with superhuman abilities who are brought together to prevent a catastrophe.

The BBC Two website has dubbed the drama as "Lost without the desert island".

I quite enjoyed this. Quite a lot of characters to get to know, but I already adore Hiro.
