an other doctor who spin off

sarah jane, two or maybe three kids as sidekicks, mr smith (???) and K9 (depending if he not too busy in space trying to close a black hole or whatever vortex it was  ), the idea was good but to turn it as a show for younger audience  :ermm: let see the next episode

between torchwood (the adult serie) and sarah jane (the serie for the kids) :ponder:

/is there going a specific thread for that show

It came across as a "Torchwood" light, to me anyway. Without, of course, the resources or a certain Mrs Jack Harkness, (I wonder who is the Mrs in his newly announced wedding :ponder:  )

An interesting way of writing K9 out of the show, though I'm still confused as to why he had to be written out  Ah well. It was aimed at kids, and from what I saw, it hit all the correct buttons to keep the kiddie winks amused. I can't wait to see my nieces tomorrow to find out what they thought of it

interesting that each time, a kid asked sarah jane how long it's gonna take for K9 to close the vortex, she only made a face and never really answered the question. so the writer seemed to have let open K9 (re)appearance in the show.

Because Bob Baker (one of the two gentlemen who created K9) is working on that dire K9 Jetix series, and thus the BBC can't use him in SJA.

Which is a shame, as I'm sure the lack of K9 will affect the series....

Hmmm....they never seem to have all these problems ....talent leaving after 1 or 2 series. Not being able to use specific characters (it could have been The Daleks if they hadn't sorted it out at the last minute with the Terry Nation estate) and now K9.....still credit to the team having to deal with them.

 anyone know if the BBC is actually showing the serie (nothing on BBC what's on) and if not, why did they show the pilot and gave up the whole serie without explanation (apart for the usual "audience was not good enough")? :ponder:

or maybe the BBC have postponed the showing for the summer or/and want to show it at the same time as doctor who :ermm:

Be patient - it was known from the start Invasion of the Bane would be a pilot episode for Christmas, and then a series proper will appear eventually (I believe filming is due to start next month).

 thank :)

it's seem this serie is to be shown only on CBBC (31 mars, 4Pm, CBBC)

Phillip Culley - March 27, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
IIRC SJA was always going to be a CBBC series (with the episodes being shown on BBC 1 as well).

However, what you're seeing is not the first episode of the series - it's a re-run of Invasion of the Bane as a promotional thing before the new series of Doctor Who starts later that day :)

:ermm: right

I have just watched this thanks to the wonders of people using these video sites to upload episodes.

It's doubtful I will continue to watch this series if it gets launched as I don't find it as compelling as Dr Who. Plus it is obviously aimed at a younger audience. Good effort though.
