Using alien technology to interrogate the victims of a serial killer, Gwen learns that the common link is dangerously close to home. And the resurrection device has a deadly secret of its own.

Oooh. Isn't that Suzie a bitch?

A great episode with, what appears to be a recurring theme in this show, it leads us down one path, then turns us almost completely around with a doozy of a reveal.

I honestly did think that it was all just a c*ck up with the amnesia drug, and that Gwen was going to go psycho on them, and they'd need Suzie to put it all right again.

But no :o It was far more complex than that. And thank God it was. If they'd have gone down the easy route, I'd probably be sat here typing a very Max-like (hey Max :hibye: ;) ) assasination of the plot. But with the reveal, all was well in the Armour household. :D

Ominous things moving in the dark. Coming for Jack? :fear: :fear: :fear:

goth willow fan - December 4, 2006 10:07 AM (GMT)
Pretty good, though it seems that Suzie went to an awful lot of trouble setting up an elaborate scheme just on the off chance that she may be killed at some point. Like how did she know that Gwen would have sufficient proficiency in using the glove?

Not sure if you're waving at me or the Torchwood Max ;)

The ep looked pretty good but I did only catch bits of it. One thing that I didn't like was the music....way over the top. I'll watch it again later :)

i did like the fact that we went straigh to the point for the start of the episode

interesting episode but still suzie great plan to come back and then go kill her father (is that because she knew what was after death?)

suzie said she gave the insane guy ( at jack saying torchwood a third time just for the fun of it) erasing memory pills for two years .... so has she planned everything for two years or she did it at the last minute (once gwen started to look around). suzie couldn't know gwen had the same "gift/power" than her.

was gwen also brainwashed when she decided to help suzie? :ponder:

a few more hint about jack

and then "something in the dark is moving, and it'coming for you jack" :ponder:

it was an ok episode but then i wish they bring some aliens (not bring back old stuff from previous episode .......... unless it's the "weavill" )

i notice next week episode is about dead people ......... again

Another very enjoyable episode. Again, far from flawless, but there was enough there to keep me gripped for 50 minutes.

Nice to see more use of Ianto again, he gets a few good lines I think. I did like his point at the end to Jack about gloves coming in pairs! :fear:

Good stuff again, and I think the show is progressing nicely. Nothing much on tv for me at the moment so I'm really enjoying Torchwood.

Either that, or let the Weavil loose.

All in the cause of keeping Torchwood secure :shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

still i kinda like the inspector (even she did have fun about jack trouble)

i thought he was gonna ask her to come and rescue them but i suppose the idea of finding the password by reading a book was a kind of funny (torchwood HQ still safe from civilian knowledge)

Stopwatch!!

I want to see what they're doing with the stopwatch :D

"If it's someone we've pissed off, that narrows it down to....ooh, four or five million"

Owen's been reading the online reviews

One of the best ones I think - nice creepy storyline with a few funny lines mixed in. :)

Even Inato was pretty good :o but Jack has really got to learn how to run properly ! that has to be the campest running style on tv. ;) Oh and thank you CB ( or whoever it was ) as I spent most of the episode staring at his hair. :)

He seems to have modelled his run on SMG's 'Preying Mantis' run from Buffy

Enjoyed this one, although I'm not too sure I really want to know what was going on with the stopwatch at the end......

Have caught the odd show at 7am on BBC 2... brings back student-type memories from the early 80's!

Gotta love Batfink and Karate! Going to have to get the dvd I think!

prophecy girl - December 7, 2006 10:39 AM (GMT)
tosh: what is she doing? (re gwen taking suzie away)

jack: getting fired

so because gwen nearly died, jack forgot to lecture gwen about helping suzie

Sparkle Motion - December 7, 2006 11:31 AM (GMT)
Quite enjoyed this one, although Suzie's plot made no sense whatsover and relied on a ridiculous amount of luck and coincidence.

Did LOL when Tosh made the huge leap "words locked the doors, maybe numbers'll open them, give me the ISBN number" WTF!

Gwen is still unbelievably stupid. Why on earth did she agree to take Suzie out of Torchwood? Silly woman :)

Indira Varma was excellent. It's a shame she couldn't have remained alive and somehow involved, maybe as a long term baddie. She acted everyone else off the screen.

The bloke playing Ianto is a terrible actor - beyond wooden. Don't like the implication that something's going on between him and Jack. Well I wouldn't mind except for the fact that Jack killed his girlfriend and he was still all sad and moping last week  Maybe it's a cunning ruse or something.

Some funny parts, liked the Detective, but still get the feeling that Team Torchwood are the most useless bunch of individuals... ever.

Hair update: still too styled and bouffant with just a tinge of ginge. Maybe that's the thing lurking in the darkness :o

 I thought that too

Thought this one was pretty good until the amateur dramatics towards the end - the phone conversation between Suzie and Jack in the cars was woeful

Did like the bit where she was sitting in the wheelchair with the back of her head blown off

I take the view with Torchwood that if you examine the plot too closely there'll be more holes than a warehousefull of swiss cheese.

So I just go with the flow :)

:lmao: :lmao:

I was going for the plot hole so large you could drive the entire cast of Ben-Hur through it. :whistling:

I`ve been watching these eps and it`s watchable, but just not up to Doc Who standards. :snooty:

Captain Jack`s running aside, I think his acting`s far better than the scripts. :)

 Maybe its Nicky Clarke ! :o

I agree with Paul though if you too closely at it it falls apart, its just a question of whether or not you can suspend your disbelief enough to just enjoy the ride which at the moment I can but if you can't I can see how Torchwood could drive you mad, I got like that towards the end with Alias.

Continuing the Buffy comparison from the other thread I make it -

Jack is the Angel ( over styled hair ! hello its all making sense ;) )
Owen the Spike
Tosh the Willow
Inato the Xander
Which leaves Gwen as a sort of bargin basement Buffy. :)
