Oh My God :o :o :o :o
Sylar revealed :o
Jessica revealed :o
Hiro heartbroken :tear:
Nathan learns to fly, at a very inopportune moment :o
Claire becomes a cheeleader.
Her dad meets Eden :fear:
Wow. This episode gave so much backstory to my favourite mysterious characters.
Nikki meets her father after so many years, and we find out why, and who Jessica is/was. This was played out to perfection IMO, gripping, emotional and revealing.
Doctor Suresh meets a young watchmaker, who has the ability to see things are broken, and know how to fix them :fear:
Hiro, poor, sweet Hiro :tear: His story is both heartwarming, and sad. He falls in love, and then learns the limitations of his abilities :(
Great show, I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next. Thank God I only have to wait a week.

Make the most of it - next weeks is the last one until January. And you know they'll have a bloody good cliffhanger to go with it! :)
I enjoyed todays episode - personally I prefer the new thing of throwing us in a series right away and then having an introductory story later on like Heroes, Prison Break and Lost have done (as opposed to having a pilot episode which introduces everyone and their respective stories).

Can't speak to Lost or Prison Break as I don't particularly like either, but the example that sprang (and always springs) immediately to mind is Firefly's Out of Gas, which is still as close to a perfect episode as I think I've seen :)
Anyhoo, terrific episode this week. Didn't take them long to mess with Hiro's innocence and joie de vivre after what I said last week, the bastards <_< :tear:
It'll be interesting to see how they develop him towards his future self from this point onwards.
I think Jamie's pretty much covered everything. I was particularly impressed with Nikki's story and, as always, I'm finding Peter and Nathan's development very interesting. I can't help feeling that Peter is going to be pivotal to the whole story :ponder:
More importantly, the discovery of Sylar was fascinating, even if it felt a little anti-climactic. So he was just a guy who was rejected by Suresh and got a little pissed off? Hmm. Not exactly Lex Luthor or Green Goblin material, but I like the idea of him going around stealing other people's powers and look forward to having more backstory filled in on that.
One thing that slightly confused me - and I may have overlooked something that explained it - but how did Bennett know enough about Eden to have the other guy go and stop her when he hadn't even met Suresh at that point? And where did he find the other guy? What did he know and how did he find it out? :ponder:
Nice to see that it finished on almost exactly the same note as last week - I thought that was it for a while so I'm glad to now learn there's one more to go yet

Somehow I had got it into my head that this was going to be the last episode before the six-week break. But there is one more, next Monday.
I have to turn in my "Fan Level 10" membership. I forgot to tune in on time and only saw the last few moments of the introduction (before the opening credits). :(
A mostly average ep, IMO. However, I think it is a terrific concept. Waiting several episodes before flashing back to some essential backstory. By this time, we're invested in each character. So each backstory fills in a familiar character.
Surprisingly, much of this moved the overall arc forward, as well. Very clever...these writers of HEROES.
Not everyone had a backstory, which is probably lucky. There were already almost too many threads to become involved in. But, by in large, what was there was interesting.
My favorte threads were Claire's father's and, especially, Hiro's too-brief story. I forget which Cult TV poster gets the credit for his guesses on Hiro's visit -- but I doubt even he predicted that denoument.

Wow! It was like Hiro bent time and space. My thread was there. Then it was here. :D
Sorry for missing the "Season 1" sub-thread. Thanks for straightening things out.

No problem. ;)
I agree completely with you that the writers of this show are it's strength. I know I've sung Jeph Loeb's praises before, but as exec producer, I can still see his fingerprints all over this show.
In his comic book work, he lays threads down months in advance that seem small and insignificant at the time, then just as you've almost forgotten them, wham. There they are, featuring heavily, and we never saw it coming.
I loved the synchronicity of Hiro calling himself, the look on his face was hilarious

It's not really been said but I think Bennett already knew all about the super genes before meeting Suresh, he probably just agreed to meet him to find out if he was a threat to Claire.
IRC Going back to the episode where he arranged for Claire to meet her 'BIO' parents, Claire's mum let slip to her that as a baby Claire had an unexplained medical condition that Mr Bennett looked into but she made a miraculous recovery which means he either made the discovery then or perhaps it was why he adopted her in the first place?
I would say he already had his organisation up and running for a long time hence having his mysterious henchman collect Eden.

Yeah, that all makes sense
Makes me even more curious to know more about his backstory, especially if he knew about the situation before adopting Claire, how he met up with the other guy etc :)

Didn't he mention to Eden in 'Homecoming' that her real mum died in an 'accident' while he was trying to 'help' her? From that I took that her mum had some sort of power but wouldn't let Bennet experiment/control/whatever her and died trying to escape?
He and his wife had been trying for a child and so adopted Claire. He must have always known that she had the potential to be 'special'

Can't remember
Are we assuming that Bennett's a bad guy, to have killed her? His character seems ambiguous at best at the moment :ponder:

I'm not sure if he meant for her to die

As the world's foremost authority on flashback episodes* this is up there with the best of them, it's no Out of Gas but better than the Prison Break one in s1 (which is brill) and the fairly run of the mill eps that there have been in Lost.
Shame Hiro hasn't got to grips with his powers yet, desperate to see him really working his mojo and looking like the one that appeared to Peter on the train.
Also Eden is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fit, it's unbelievable. She looks a little bit like my missus only she's prettier (deliberately obscure in case missus reads)
