| Sam and Dean meet Andy Gallagher, a slacker with psychic powers of persuasion. Once the brothers learn that Andy’s family was visited by the Demon, Sam wonders if he could be one of the special children. |

First off: the music in this episode varied from the sublime (Soundgarden's rather marvellous Fell On Black Days, at the end of the episode  ) to the ridiculous (REO Speedwagon for feck's sake! :fear: ). And, in the middle of it all, the totally bizarre - Spinal Tap's Stone Henge
I thought this was a pretty decent episode. I like it when they lead you in a certain direction and then turn that on its head and go off in another - although Andy having a twin was no great shock it was still a decent little twist.
Loved the bit where Andy stole the car off Dean
In a lot of ways this episode reminded me (read as: blatant rip-off) of The X Files episode Pusher which, it has to be said, was superior in almost every way, but I still enjoyed this one a lot

I know this may shock you all, but I loved the scene with Dean singing in the car :ph43r:
And the look on his face when he realised he had just given his precious away
"I'm sorry baby. I'll never leave you again!" :lmao:
Sam is really starting to get on my nerves, why is he so sure that he and all the people like him are bound for evil? Whiner <_<

Get a grip :p

I know not what you are talking about :innocent:
willowroolz - October 30, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
Yeah right
Dean-lovers
Sam rules. Or roolz. :ponder:
melian - October 30, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
So you love Sam do you? :whistling:
willowroolz - October 30, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
In a manly way :snooty:
I find him the more interesting character, not that I dislike Dean :)
melian - October 30, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
But why? I know I may be biased, but what is so great about Sam? All he ever seems to do is moan about his life. Sure, it pretty much sucks but at least he had a bit of a 'normal' life. Dean was the one that has kept everything and everyone together since he was a child, he could never have a normal life.
Going back on topic to this episode, yet again Sam was the one who was the pessimistic one, it's like he almost wants to be proved right about all the 'special kids' being evil. Get over yourself sweetie <_< I don't know, maybe it is because of what happened last week, with Dean confessing that he thought their dad had sacrificed himself for Deans life, I just thought Sam may spend a little time thinking about his brother rather than himself again.
Then again, I may have just spent too much time thinking about this full stop :ph43r:
willowroolz - October 30, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
I think you've answered your own question, Karen - you're biased. You like the pretty boy :p
Dean's the comic relief, Sam's the one who's at the centre of everything. If Sam was like Dean they might just as well turn it into a spooky sequel to Dumb and Dumber  ;)
Oh, and don't you think that Dean wanting to keep the family "together", yanking Sam away from that big interview and all those prospects and now unfulfilled ambitions was just a tad selfish in the first place? Dean freely admitted that the family is all he's got. If he feels that strongly about his brother's happiness he should've been ready to let go :ponder:
Of course, there wouldn't be a series then...
melian - October 30, 2006 10:25 PM (GMT)
Hey! Dean took Sam back to school in time for the big interview. Wasn't his fault that the stupid demon killed Sam's girlfriend and sent Sam into a spiral of vengance ;)
Dean has on a number of occasions said that he would love for Sam to have the life that he wants, he even let him go back to it in season 1, Sam came back to their way of life of his own accord. Granted, it was perfectly timed
willowroolz - October 30, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
There's a buzzing in my ears. All I heard was Dean yadda-yadda-yadda, Dean blah-blah-blah :p
IMO, the show's all about the partnership and the dynamic between the pair of them. It work's brilliantly and I wouldn't have them change either character unless the storytelling demanded it
So stop whining about Sam, he's great the way he is :p
melian - October 30, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
:ph43r: I did start out the discussion saying I may be biased
I agree, the characters are perfect the way they are, I just can't help being a bit more invested in Dean than in Sam.
And I wasn't whining :snooty:

Whatever.
Next time I won't bother to say anything apart from if I enjoyed the episode or not :snooty: :p

Sam as a character is a whiner, the above points made pretty much outline this, the OMG I'm going to be a killer was a tad annoying.
I find Sam quite vaccuous, I know we joke around but it's not just about looks, Jensen is the more charismatic. :p
willowroolz - October 31, 2006 08:06 AM (GMT)
Absolute tosh :p
I didn't realise being the intelligent one in the outfit defined being a "whiner". I'm sure if you woke up in the morning and found that you had a power you were unaware of and a demon after you for reasons unknown you'd be a bit perturbed :p
But I'm not surprised by your opinion. Dean-lovers

Why is Sam more intelligent? because he started college but Dean didn't get a chance to go?
Personally I think Sam is self absorbed and that's not absolute tosh - that is my opinion :)
willowroolz - October 31, 2006 10:22 AM (GMT)
You're entitled to your opinion :)
But you're wrong :o
melian - October 31, 2006 10:56 AM (GMT)
I'm with Alex ;)
It's okay Steve, you just keep on believing
