| Sam and Dean encounter a vampire hunter whose obsession may get them all killed. |

Oh the irony: Amber Benson playing a vampire. Apart from a couple of shots it barely looked like her, and she didn't exactly get a lot to do. I wonder if we'll see her again :ponder:
At first I was thinking "Another vampire episode? Already?" :ermm:
But I really liked the direction they took it in, which wasn't expected after the deliberate mislead in the teaser.
After the end of the previous episode it would have been easy for the writers to move on, but it I liked that this one dealt with Dean going down a particularly dark path (although the shot of him with blood on his face after chainsawing the vampire's head off was a little OTT, almost as if they felt the need to hit the audience over the head and say "Hey, look how it's affecting him"  ) in reaction to John's death, and I liked how Sam dealt with it, too :)
Points deducted for using AC/DC's Back In Black again
Funniest bit was in the morgue:
Dean: All right, Open it.
Sam: You open it.
Dean: Wuss.

Had I not seen her name in the opening credits I doubt I'd have noticed her at all to be honest. Solid enough in her performance but she wasn't exactly given a great deal to do.

Agree with that. The whole 'What is a Hunter' thing was a decent exploration, especially for Dean. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I expected to.

From what I hear, Dean's dark journey's going to be one of the cornerstones of this season, and could prove to be an absolutely cracking direction for both the character and the show. It promises a lot.

Sounds good to me
I hope they don't lose the character's sense of humour along the way, though :)

It's pretty much the characters trademark. Sam moans, Dean makes a funny ;)

I did like that Sam felt that he could phone Ellen for help, it's nice that the boys finally have some support even if Dean is not very happy about it

That's one thing Supernatural's missing - eye candy. It's about time they brought back Sam's girlfriend Sarah :naughty:

It is good news, and there is plenty of eye candy
It's a shame Amber didn't have more to do I'd been looking forward to seeing her.

Or give Kate Beckinsale a part in it
Maybe Selene and Sam could join forces :ponder:

You get the impression that the only eye candy we'll be getting on Supernatural is of the undead variety!
It's good news that Smallville and Supernatural (and Veronica Mars) are all doing well on The CW. Thus far, as a network, it's not doing well generally, so a half-decent performance on the part of those three shows should see them all survive

Another great episode starring my fave brothers! I also like the direction they went with the Vampires (inc the lovely Amber!!) being the "good" guys for once. I have the feeling we have not seen the last of Amber OR Gordy - as Dean called him :lmao:
I just love Deans's character. He can have me drooling, then crying then laughing all in the same scene. I think its going to be really interesting seeing just how dark he gets as the season progresses.
Fave line of the ep:
Sam "Only he gets to call me that" (sammy) :lmao:
