| Clark and Chloe pursue a plant creature that uses male humans to recreate, one which has taken Jimmy Olsen as it's next human breeding ground. Meanwhile, Oliver Queen asks a reluctant Lois to be his date at a charity ball held by Lex. |

:ermm:
Not sure about this one to be honest
I'm surprised by how quickly the Lana/Lex thing has become tedious. The Jimmy/Chloe relationship seems a bit silly and immature, particularly from Chloe's point of view. The plant woman plot seemed underdeveloped, with little rhyme or reason other than to put characters in peril. They could have done more with it.
I did enjoy the Lois/Oliver angle, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes :)
So Clark's now at the centre of three love triangles:
Clark/Lana/Lex - boring
Clark/Chloe/Jimmy - needs w.ork :ermm:
Clark/Lois/Oliver - could be good :ponder:
Loved Oliver's deliberate "miss" at the end

I have to say, this is the first episode this season that I've thoroughly enjoyed. AS I mentioned in the 'What did you watch last' thread, the A-story around 'Plant Girl' was instantly forgettable, but everything else in this story worked for me.

Can't say as it's gotten there for me yet. It looks to be driving a permanent wedge between Clark and Lex, which for me is at the heart of the Superman story. The further their relationship disintegrates, the better it bodes for the show IMO.

Thoroughly enjoying that part of the story. I'm sure the ladies will be revelling in the fact that Justin Hartley's a looker, but he's perfect for the role of Green Arrow. Extremely charismatic, and looks to be a perfect foil for Lex

And from what I read last nigth, you'll soon be able to add him to a fourth!
I'm not mad keen on the Jimmy O/Chloe one, like the Lex/Lana one for the reasons mentioned above, and the Lois/Oliver one is probably the best of the yet so far, odd given that it only first appears in this episode

Yeah, I liked that bit as well, Lois should have taken a closer look!

I agree with all of the above
The Lois/Oliver bits were by far the best, especially when she tips him at the beginning
Had myself a good giggle at Lex in his costume though :ph43r:

That's very true :)
As always my problem is Lana
I've been a bit disappointed with Michael Rosenbaum's performances so far this season, and I think it's largely down to a lack of chemistry between him and Kreuk. He doesn't seem convinced by the relationship and if he's not, I'm not  :whistling:

Had to laugh at Clark's "I'm not one for costumes" line too

And Lois' about not being a fan of men in tights :lmao:

Big  for Lois's costume, too  :naughty: :ph43r:

Definitely looked more like Rodney in Only Fools And Horses, rather than Russell Crowe in Gladiator didn't he?

I enjoyed this ep, for all of the reasons listed above,
Ollie Queen is by far the best new character in the show, and deserves more airtime (not just 'cos he's cute :innocent: )
You're right James, about Justin Hartley being perfect in the role, he plays all of Ollie's strengths brilliantly, I think the rivalry (outright hostilities) between him and Lex is going to be fun to explore as the season continues.
It was let down by one major thing though. I was under the impression that the phantom zone escapees might actually pose a genuine threat, instead, the first one Clark faces is treated as yet another "villain of the week" and defeated more by accident than design
Hope the next one isn't dealt with so quickly :(

I think it's fairly safe to assume that of all the phantoms released, this week's seems to be at the bottom of the food chain so to speak. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them, and I'm sure the others will be plenty hard. :)
