| Humanity's fate is sealed--vampire series will rise from its coffin no more. Blade has gotten a stake through the heart. The vampire action series, which was the first attempt at a one-hour drama for network Spike TV, will not be renewed for a second season. The show had fallen off drastically from its premiere ratings. Blade arose from the grave over the summer with a strong 2.5 million cable viewers. Ratings died off over the show's 12-episode run up to the September 13 finale, which drew only 896,000 viewers. Blade was a TV port of the popular Wesley Snipes action movie trilogy, which featured Snipes as a half-vampire trying to fight evil vampires attempting to take over the world. Kirk "Sticky" Jones stepped into the role for the series. "We were happy with Blade creatively," a Spike rep told Variety. "However, we were disappointed with audience turnout." Replacing Blade will be the John Leguizamo action series Kill Pit. |

| I aquired it, and am rather annoyed it's not being picked up for a second season. |
