Hi all,

I have just bought a DVD player / rewriter (internal) and have installed it all. The problem is that when I go to play a DVD, the disk has write protection on it and it plays but jumps every two seconds??

I understand this is so I can't play it but what is the point of a DVD player if I can't play DVD's???!!!!!

Is there any way around it at all or can you suggest anything?

AFAIK write-protection shouldn't affect you viewing DVDs at all, it just means you can't write on them.

Sounds like a possible software issue. I'd make sure you've got the latest version of whatever DVD playing software came with it (PowerDVD?). You might also want to check to make sure that you've got the latest version of DirectX installed.
