If you enjoy the Bajoran spirituality type eps (like me) this is very good

Avery Brooks pulls off a good performance, the story's interesting and there's a nice bit of conflict between Sisko aka the emmissary and the federation, culminating in him telling the bajorans not to join star fleet.

Also another one of those eps that wouldn't have worked anywhere near as well if the acting wasn't as good as it was.

By me :)

Another great episode - while normally the Bajoran stuff is a bit boring, Brooks' performance was superb

And the new 'First Contact' uniform debut here - I've always felt they've suited DS9 far much better than the coloured ones, and at the same time I don't think I could see them w**king on Voyager

Still, didn't anyone have the balls to tell Sisko he combadge wasn't on his uniform properly?

By Phillip :)

Might've been a bit hard for the Voyager crew to get hold of them anyway, all the way out in the Delta Quadrant

I enjoyed this one, found it really interesting. I thought Avery Brooks was putting in a fantastic performance right up until the scene where he wakes up, finds the visions are gone and starts, erm, wailing (can't think how else to put it), which was awful :ermm:

I thought all the machinations around Bajor becoming a member of the Federation was well done, especially Winn's reaction to it all :)

I hated the whole 'Bajor/Emissary/Sisko/Prophets' rubbish the first time around. Every subsequent viewing though I've found it compelling. Sisko's personal journey throughout the series hinges, very much on his acceptance of his role as Emissary, and his changing attitude towards the role I find fascinating, and IMO, it's well done. A fluid transition. I actually enjoy this episode, and I know Brooks' style isn't to everyone's tastes, but I find his performances on DS9 highly captivating
