:ermm:
Aside from the fact I spent most of the ep thinking it was a different one, I'd guess this is watchable but a bit weak
Troi falling so quickly for overconfident oil boy was pretty weird and Riker being randomly assigned to takeover what could have been very important negotiations was a bit daft as well :ponder:
All in all not the best

Fecking awful
This should be another one put in a bottle and sold as a cure for insomnia
Troi is pathetic in this episode. She obviously has a penchant for smug blokes, but this Ral idiot takes the proverbial biscuit in smugness terms. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wanted to see Riker deck him the moment he appeared, and in every scene he turned up in thereafter. Appalling actor, appalling character, dreadful episode.
Although...
It interested me that there were elements in here that may well have been picked up on for the next two spin-offs: the "stable" wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant that subsequently isn't stable and drops them off in the Delta Quadrant where a ship gets stranded 70,000 light years from home :ponder:
All sounds quite familiar :ponder:

:o
We agree on something :lmao:
I picked up on the stable wormhole to the Gamma quadrant bit but didn't really pay too much attention to the Voyager set up reference
Interestingly I read a letter I sent to someone about Voyager when I first started watching it and I thought it looked very promising. Guess I was disabused of that notion
