I would love to see
The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd on DVD. Please ?
Clicky :)
Ooh, and
The Avengers to get reissued.
jamiearmour - August 26, 2006 06:03 PM (GMT)
A release of Twin Peaks season 2 wouldn't go amiss.
I know a lot of fairies, but I don't know any that have anything to do with DVD's Dan.
Unless you count making their own :shifty: :shifty: :naughty: :naughty: :innocent:

You obviously know nothing about fairies then :snooty:
There are fairies for everything....
Tree fairies, shoe fairies, cake fairies, tooth fairies.....and DVD fairies.
How do you think they put these movies onto a flat disc shaped plastic....fairy magic!!!!!
How dare you without the DVD fairies we would still be in the troll days of VHS.
And the battle between the Blue-Ray Witches and the HD-DVD Wizards has been highly publicised in the news recently.

It's an odd one this one. Due to confusion over the rights this will likely see an international DVD release before it does domestically in the States.
AFAIK both Seasons 1 & 2 are being released in Australia in November, and season two should have a new video transfer.
There were rumours that the season two set could also see an individual release in the States but nothing's been confirmed and I doubt they'll see it there before 2007 at the earliest.
I still wouldn't be surprised if it turned up here first.

Most of the stuff I'd want is gradually coming out anyway.
Notable exceptions;
Earth 2
Space Above & Beyond
Star Fleet (Which will likely never ever see a DVD release :( )
The Mysterious Cities of Gold
The Pretender
Oh and of course, The Shield Seasons 3 onwards FFS

That's weird, because the episodes I downloaded are of DVD quality (at least R1 "quality") and came complete with FBI copyright warnings at the start of some of the episodes :shifty: :shifty:
Could have been transfers from VHS though I suppose, but good ones
Crichton Kicks - August 27, 2006 09:18 AM (GMT)
Yeah, they're VHS transfers Jamie, I've got the same ones
Sadly, the rights situation for the show are in an absolute mess. The original X-Bomber was released In Japan a few years ago, but the chances of a European 'Star Fleet' release are about as close to zero as you could ever get :(

Damn them.
I thought Hollywood was supposed to be full of copyright lawyers! Are none of them talented enough to pick through the messes from the past? <_< <_< <_< :guns:

It's a shame, because as good as the VHS copies are they're still the Americanized versions, ie. bits edited out for time.
The one episode in particular that stands out is the one where Shiro goes off to confront Captain Carter. They took a whole chunk out of that one

Yeah I know, I'm wary of Region 1 releases though unless I have to.
Sometimes they're substandard next to European releases, just look at The Shield for example.
I'll probably give The Pretender another 12 months to see if it ever makes it over here, if not, well, they're reasonably priced @ £17.99, just under the import charge range

I want John Doe
Can't ever get enough Dom Purcell :naughty:

And thanks to a heads up from Karen about it's appearance in the HMV sale, it's been in my DVD collection for a week now, and I haven't had a chance to even get the discs out of the case :tear:
It will get watched.
At some point.
