Crichton and Aeryn's tranport pod becomes trapped in an invisible net that is controlled by pirates...

Not a bad episode overall, but some of the individual scenes are just fantastic.
I've added a few of my fav quotes from this episode in the quotes thread already, so I won't put them up again, but I will add the following:
D'Argo: A Luxan warrior must never be indecisive in battle. My indecision nearly cost Aeryn and Crichton their lives.
Zhaan: But you saved them.
D'Argo: Barely - and by saving them, I may have given up my only chance of ever seeing my son again. On every front, I failed.
You can't help but feel for the big lump at that moment
And Rygel, well the first time I saw this I really thought he had given D'Argo and Staanz up to the bad guys. Just not enough faith in the little guy I guess ;)
As a character, Rygel just comes across as morally dysfunctional and greedy, but you forget that he was a Dominar and that he is very old and then you see that he is actually very intelligent, alright more crafty and cunning than anything but he IS very good at it!!!
Ahhhh, the ballad of John and Aeryn continues. I think the 'will they/won't they' question has mostly been answered, I mean if not for the 'timely' arrival of D'Argo ("Someones docking??!!") they would definitely have....erm, well......you know. And that last scene between the two of them in command is a peach!! I wonder where she put his hand? ;)

That bit amuses me. One moment they're both saying how cold it is, the next they're stripping off!
Anyway, credit where credit's due: the writers don't bother keeping us hanging around for Crichton and Aeryn to get it together, it's taken just 13 episodes
This is a pretty good episode. The first time I watched it it had me dozing off, but this time I enjoyed it. There's a lot to like here: John and Aeryn's relationship moves on quite literally in leaps and bounds, D'Argo takes a long hard look at himself, and Rygel... well, Rygel is just priceless. This was probably the first time that I started to see him as a character, rather than a puppet. In this episode his true nature really comes to the fore. He is the most devious and manipulative character on Moya and he is absolutely brilliant in this episode. The look on Zhaan's face after she realises what he has done says it all. We all probably come out of this story with a different opinion of the little guy.
Credit also to Rhys Muldoon, who plays Staanz. He is hilarious. I'm not sure whether he's more disturbing for the fact that he appears to pilot a steam-driven bicycle through space, or the fact that he turns out to be the female of the species (much to D'Argo's surprise  ). It's a very energetic performance.
The only aspect of this episode that I note each time I see it is how much the central plot of Aeryn and John trapped in the pod owes to the middle section of The Abyss. They're trapped, the air is running out, they only have one space (read: Diving) suit between them so one must "die" so that the other can solve the problem and then bring them back to life. Of course, the twist here is that the initial plan of Aeryn taking the Killshot while Crichton saves the day is a no go, whereas in The Abyss Lyndsey's idea of going into deep hypothermia is the option they have to take. Honestly, I half expected Aeryn to shout at Crichton "You never backed away from anything in your life you bitch! Now fight! Fight! Fiiiiiiiight!" when she was reviving him. Of course she probably wouldn't have called him a bitch.
It worries and excites me. If I'm now enjoying the episodes I didn't like originally, what on earth am I going to make of the stunners to come? :o

I can hardly wait!!!
Oh, yeah, right. I didn't, did I :D

Finally managed to watch this ep all the way through. Post a review later when I have more time.
Just what would have happened if D'Argo hadn't arrived. LOL at the expression on his face

I must admit, I thought the premise of this episode was a bit dumb, to begin with. I'm not sure how I'd envisaged the Flax, but I was pleasantly surprised by the vastness of it.
I loved the scenes between Crichton and Aeryn, loved her smile at the end in answer to "You are the female of your species, right?" I'm glad I didn't manage to watch the Abyss all the way through, <yawn> from Steve's comparison.
Felt so sorry for D'Argo, to be that desperate to trade anything on Moya for a map, breaks your heart. I'm not going to ask, cos I don't want to be spoiled, but I'm hoping he will be reunited with his son, albeit, if only briefly. I was so surprised when he had a change of heart, and decided to get to Crichton and Aeryn, before it was too late, esp as he was mere minutes away from discovering info to take him to his son
I really thought Rygel had turned D'Argo and Staanz over to the (name escapes me, just pretend I put it here) amazed when it turns out, he sent them on a wild goose chase.
So back to Crichton and Aeryn, can't really add to either Steve or Melian's observations, so everything they said here. Big awwwwh for Aeryn though.

This is another episode that has grown on me.
Its great to see the devious intelligence of Rygel it is so easy to underestimate him but he was dominar and had years of political tuition and its nice to see him get one over on the pirates.
As Lisa commented it is a sad choice for D'Argo but he has to save them, doesn't he...
Staanz is a great character and I think by the end of it, D'Argo does kind of like him though not in the way Staanz would like
The John and Aeryn scenes are fabulous. I love Aeryns approach just tell me what to do and I'll do it, if he had told her to chop off his head I think she would have and yet if forced her true feelings out.
Its a quietly charming episode that sneaks up on you and before you know it your laughing and shedding a few tears

Ok, hand up, I nodded off during this one as well. Nothing to do with the episode, I was just very  at that point. I ended up having to rewind
That being said, I rather enjoyed this one I have to say. An improvement over the episodes that go before it. The premise is a combination of tried and tested scenarios, but they serve to provide us with yet more character defining scenes. The scenes in particular between John and Aeryn aboard the pod were fascinating, and shame on D'Argo for turning up at exactly the wrong time  There was also the scenes with D'Argo desperate to reach the Luxan ship, only to give it up in order to save John/Aeryn. Even the scenes back aboard ship with Zhaan and Rygel hoodwinking Kcrackic were amusing.

Gotta agree with that one, in certain respects he made the episode. His character certainly facilitated the events within it. Poor old D'Argo, he looked rather uncomfortable at the end of the episode
