Title: Blade The Series

It's very good

I don't like the films, Blade seemed very over the top and too in love with him self to be taken seriously, plus I'm not a big fan of Wesley Snipes.

Kirk "Sticky" Jones's Blade on the other hand is a lot more reserved and serious, not much dialog but from what he did say he sounded the part, he does very well :)

The rest of the cast are also likeable and act quite well, won't go into detail due to spoilery as a lot happens in the one hour and thirty minute Pilot. But its definitely worth a watch.

I'll be downloading it every week as there's a serious lack of dark Cult telly about, and with this being Spike TV they can show what they need to show. :01:

edit: It's getting some very mixed reviews, people seem to either really really dislike it or have enjoyed it  The last programme I really enjoyed was Night Stalker, wouldn't be surprised in the least if this goes the same way :ermm:

Just watched episode 2, once again very good. The main arc seems to be falling into place now, looks like the outcomes going to be very interesting.

The characters are developing well, Van Sciver's a top bad guy :)

Been trying to figure out where I know Bill Mondy (Detective Boone) from, he was in The Crow: Salvation.

On the bright side, stuff like this these days performs much better on smaller platforms such as cable, the ratings expectations are lower.

Just watched episode 4 for the second time, they couldn't seriously even entertain the notion of considering the possibility of ending this due to it being the dogs genitals.

Is no one else watching this? It fills the gap that Angel left quite nicely, obviously not as good but darker and just as fun. :)

I did even know this existed untill I saw your banner so thinks for the info rob  I like the first Blade movie I haven't see the others yet. My own view is that if a show has vampires in it has to be woth a look. Where can I down load it from? My broadband isn't very quick any ideas on how long would take I know nothing about computers?

First things first, you need the program (client) that's going to download it for you, there's possibly hundreds about, all with special magical powers, my preference is Bit Tornado, you'd need the STABLE: T-0.3.7 version on the right. Just download and install it and forget about it.

The next step is to go here and click download torrent, you should get a little window pop up asking if you want to save or open it, choose open and Bit Tornado should then start up asking you where to save the file, choose your place (desktop, whatever?) and it will then start downloading it for you :)

I'm on just a 1MB connection, an average 45min episode takes up to 3 to 3 and a half hours from a place like torrentspy, though the Blade Pilot is an hour and a half long, you can leave Bit Tornado to do its thing, you'll get a green bar once its finished, then just click the "Finish" button which will appear at the end and you're done :)

So if this show fills the void Angel left for our fix on Vampirism, then why the hell was Angel cancelled!

I might try to download it but I have Bines to finish, Desperate Housewives to finish and Alias to start so I expect my late summer / autumn to be very productive!

Anyting with Vampires in as Joe pointed out should definately be worth notching up the priority list.

:naughty:

Watched episode six yesterday, it's still great. The plots thickening between the different houses, and the pureblood is creepy :ermm:

melian - August 9, 2006 09:46 AM (GMT)
I'm a couple of episodes behind, but planning to watch them soon

You are right about the pureblood, shudder! Reminds me of a character in the Anita Blake series of books.

Just watched episode 7 today, really interesting ep. So far I've prefered the series to the films

rob - August 25, 2006 03:53 PM (GMT)

rob - August 31, 2006 06:46 PM (GMT)
Episode 10 just pissed on episode 9! :o Just three more eps to go for this season (I think?)

melian - August 31, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
I still have 9 and 10 to watch

I didn't realise the series was so short :(

rob - August 31, 2006 08:09 PM (GMT)
tv.com only have eps listed up to 13 and no info on a second season, dunno if they'll extend this season or go straight to season 2?

melian - September 14, 2006 11:45 AM (GMT)
Was it the final episode shown last night?

I haven't heard that there has been a decision made about a second season yet but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed

Due to spotting this thread I decided to download the pilot and give it a go. Thanks Rob, I now have something new to watch! I have watched the first 5 episodes and I am enjoying it so far.

I have seen all three of the Blade films, the last one being more an advert for an ipod. This series has quite a bit of potential to last, hopefully the powers that be will see it that way as everything I seem to like gets cancelled. :(

I have only just seen The 4400, I am so behind with my cult tv, good job you lot keep me updated!

Blade Gets The Spike (from sci fi wire.com)

Spike TV confirmed to SCI FI Wire reports that its original series Blade has been canceled. "Yes, that's true," a Spike representative said in an interview on Sept. 29. "It won't be renewed for a second season. I can tell you that Spike TV was very happy with the creative part of Blade. The cast, the actual production. We absolutely enjoyed w**king with New Line and [executive producer] David Goyer, [writer] Geoff Johns. But honestly, the network was disappointed with the audience turnout and the ratings. But I can tell you that New Line is going to be issuing a DVD of the entire season." No date was announced for the DVD.

The statement confirmed rumors first posted by co-star Jill Wagner on her MySpace.com page, according to a report on the THEOcracy Web site. The post in which Wagner (Krista Starr) reports the news is only visible to Wagner's friends. The news was also reported on Ain't It Cool News.

The series was quietly put to sleep after the end of its first 13-episode season. The show was based on the Blade movies and the Marvel Comics character, with Kirk "Sticky" Jones playing the title character. Wagner played his counterpart, a former soldier who becomes a vampire but struggles to retain her humanity.
