Ok haven't seen the show so NO SPOILERS please but I just picked up the first season for £17.99 from Choices UK, and thought I'd just tell people that its good value from there cause its supposed to be £59.99!!!! FOR 12 EPISODES...I'm sorry but HBO likes expensive boxsets but hey....OK if thats where they get their revenue....

Looks interesting...might watch it soon...once exams all over!!!! I really like things set around the period of 'The Dustbowl'...must be the fact that we read 'Of Mice And Men' at school and I throughly enjoyed it.

Hope you enjoy it Dan. Those of us who've followed the show were totally transfixed by it, even Mrs Hovis who isn't really into the whole Cult tv thing. It isn't the easiest show to watch, but it is well worth it!

I find the setting extremely atmospheric. It's part of the attraction I think. For me anyway. I remember reading 'Of Mice and Men' at school too, and I studied the American Depression too, as part of my History 'O' Level and found the whole era fascinating.

Carnivale's the kind of show that only HBO can do. Superb production values. Unfortunately those values cost £/$, and in the end that proved crucial when they cancelled it in favour of keeping other lower-rated shows :(

Still sadly missed. Storywise, I can only think of B5 which bettered it. Possibly Jeremiah, but I'd say they were both about the same level.

Considering that there are only 12/13 episodes, it shouldn't take too long ;)
