Title: S4 Rewatch
John Brawn - May 22, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
How about starting the S4 rewatch during the first weekend in June? That will give us a short gap. The main drawback is that, I suppose, everyone will be engrossed in the world cup. That being the case should we wait a couple of weeks? I just thought it might be a change from infernal football. sk

I love my fooball as you know but there is always time for Buffy! :yahoo: Now I've finished uni for the summer I say bring it on.

I suppose it all depends on how prophecy girl feels seeing as it tends to be us two who respond. mehitabel seems to be putting out some feelers as well but we will have to wait and see. sk

is england (or france) playing everyday in june? i don't think so ......... so if the timing is right, there is no reason to start a thread about new season four episode.
but if in any case, nearly impossible but just a possibility, ....................... :ermm: ............................ england ................. ......................... lose :innocent: , would people want to watch a season four episode (well there is something blue) or a more funny episode (BBB, storyteller, doppelgangland,.....) ? (just a thought)

I see your point I know I've been slow to take part in the re-watch my bad. :( All I meant was people usually make time for there favourite shows and those who don't like football could want to do something different i.e. the re-watch? I am happy to go along with what everyone else wants to do.

S4 has a fairly light tone and feel to it, barring the strangely serious Adam, so I think we should stick to S4 only as before. So the first week in June it is. sk
prophecy girl - May 23, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
ok  ............... :)
Hovis - May 24, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
For reasons I can't quite remember (probably going on holiday) I crashed out of the rewatch early in season two, and have lost out. Will try and catch up, though without adding my reviews to all episodes.
But will happily jump back in for season 4. I caught 'The Freshman' on Sky last week, and I've always loved that episode. I like the whole season, though the season arc is pretty naff. A bit under-rated, IMO.
See you in June then!

Thats me- feeler girl!
One of two things is going to happen from 16 June and the month following- I will either be cyber-deprived due to busyness of (residential) summer job, OR prepared to beseige the fortress, vault the moat and scale the ramparts to demand 24 staff access to the computer lab. (Well, it IS a kosher castle...).
Have just found out that the teaching day runs from 8.30 in the morning till 10 at night (not all day, every day, true, but the idea of being remotely coherent on the subject of Shakespeare before 9 at the earliest is chilling)- perhaps breakfast-with-rewatch gossip is the way to succeed.

Thanks Loobi
I've put the first topic up.
Everyone feel free to join in with the rewatch at any stage

Where has all the time gone? I seem to turn around and somehow have not managed to watch The Freshman yet. I must make an effort this week especially as it is the last great season opener. sk
John Brawn - July 14, 2006 02:56 PM (GMT)
I realise I broke my own rules a bit with not posting regularly but World Cup and Wimbledon were in the way.
Could we have topics once a week from now on laughtitupfuzzball? sk

Your determination to try again, without prejudice deserves a big  . I really hope you enjoy it this time round :yahoo:
But then, all opinions are good opinions, and the razorblade option, if it turns out that way, will still be fun to read.

My extreme mental health problems, which I have mentioned now and again, plus psychiatric pills mean my memory is so poor each episode reaquires a strong element of freshness due to the 'chemical fog' which moves like a 'thief' across my consciousness stealing memories. Even though that is a problem it is better than being totally ill say to the point where you cannot enjoy Buffy=not good at all. sk

Ouch! Good point- of course, all other things being equal, the ability to rewatch, but like new, might be regarded by some as a total bonus (or, at least, a compensation). :ponder:

Can we have topics for The Initiative(extreme anticipation)?
On the negative side will have to suffer The Bachelor Party(boo hiss). sk

Hi laughitupfuzzball can I prod you for some topics say The Initiative and Pangs over the weekend pleaseamundo.
I will try to stay on topic but totally out there off topicness is just so tempting. I was hoping Mehitabel would have a quick post to finish things off. An academic posting some choice words would be fine closure and hopefully take some steam out of the proceedings. sk

It is great to have you back prophecy girl. The boards seem quiet without you around. I have to go wildly off topic to keep the interest up. That's my excuse at any rate.
If laughitupfuzzball wants to hold back a day or two that is fine. People should enjoy posting reviews. It should not be some sort of treadmill. sk
prophecy girl - August 14, 2006 07:46 PM (GMT)
i can try to be up to date even if the thread for the next two episodes are posted but it just that it would be a little difficult to follow/discuss 4 threads  (depending if there is a discussion really going on in one thread :ermm: )

(posting from the parents house so hopefully this will be ok)
I think people were just hanging back until prophecy girl was back with us. I did hint at this above.
Somehow I seemed to be busy or at gym or Wetherspoons all last week so I never managed to find the time to post at all. When I return on Monday I will try and find the time at some point.
If people are ready to move on or want a bit more time they should post on this thread. As I said above this should not be a treadmill. sk
prophecy girl - August 28, 2006 04:18 PM (GMT)
:ermm: if everyone busy, i should just post a quick review in the "last episode watched" thread, :ponder:

I promise not to moan about what Hegel said in 1809 unless the situation absolutely merits it of course which means it is absolutely necessary. sk

ditto my bouillerbase of pleasure.
Not really looking forward to Goodbye Iowa. Really looking forward to This Years Girl(though I have no idea why it is called that other than maybe Doug is trying to say pretty commonsensically that Faith is having to deal with a new year.)
