Fantastic  Really enjoyed this one, made a great 100th ep, imo, so many nods back to the early seasons. So full of energy and fun… the club mission at the beginning, the train… it all reminded why I like the show so much. The babysitting agents were absolutely hilarious. As was Jack’s ‘don’t leave knives around Bristow women’ line

Will! :D So happy to see him, the show really lacks something when he’s not in it and he and Syd have such great chemistry (way more believable than her and Vaughn) - they should’ve ended up together. He totally owned this episode, every line he had was just perfect – I loved the ‘my head is beeping’. Although I’m curious as to where he’s picked all these computer and fighting skills… His speech at the end was lovely.

And Anna! Enjoyed the scenes with her & Peyton.. made me smile to have AA and Gina Torres onscreen together again, plus the episode was written by Drew Goddard… Anna kissing the glass was a great call-back to season 1. And :ermm: to cloning Sydney! Interesting, I guess the Anna-Sydney will be able to fulfil the Rambaldi prophecy? As they’re bringing that back up again. Was never a big fan of the Rambaldi story… not at all, but I guess they have to tie it up. I liked Rachel’s ‘who’s Rambaldi’

I had a few problems with the believability of a lot of things in this ep; like Syd’s baby being about 4 months old and being able to support its own head even though she’d said several times that it couldn’t… plus Sydney actually finding the detonator in the river was ridiculously silly – but I don’t mind cos I didn’t want Will’s head to explode! But, I liked it a lot.. it’s never been all that realistic anyway

Yay, I love episodes where Will comes back. And a welcome return to Espinosa too...although not for long, as it turns out.... <_<

So, Jack and Syd just casually drop into the conversation that they know Vaugn is actually alive?

And going down the whole evil clone route again? Hmmm. I think Alias has re-used its ideas one too many times. But I'll wait to see how it pans out.

Loved this episode too  Looks like it's really going to pick up towards the end now  Yay to Will and Anna being back  Loved the conversation between Will and Syd when Will asks her to be his best man and she thinks he's talking about dying  Thanks for the confidence :lmao:

And Syd looks in awfully good shape and has a lot of energy for a woman who gave birth 4 weeks previously :ph43r:

I liked lots about this episode - a big Yay for the return of Bradley Cooper !

The script seemed much better, there were plenty of funny/eeky moments, but for a 100th Episode, I just don`t know if it felt special enough.

One thing I really didn`t like - and I don`t know if I misheard it - but Thomas Grace calling wotsit`s character in the Club a big ho seemed distasteful. :snooty:

Well, yes....It did have Will (  ) but it just didn`t shout Whoo-Hoo ! for me.

The final shot didn`t seem as shocking as it could have been, there were too many signposts in the script for what was going to happen.

Totally agree there, that's gotta go down as least shocking 'shock-ending' ever . As soon as they started talking about Sydney's DNA it was pretty obvious what was gonna happen...

Some people figured it out as soon as they heard the episode was titled "there's only one Sydney Bristow"

Yep, I`d agree that that was just a teeny bit of a hint. :lmao:

No idea this was the 100th episode until I read this thread and you wouldn't notice it from the episode as it didn't seem very special to me.

There was some good things in this episode and it was probably one of the better S5 episodes ( not that thats saying much imo ) but the good things were outweighed by the things that annoyed me about it. So Syd and Jack knew all along that Vaughn was alive ? in which case why the f*** did we have to endure weeks of Syd crying and moping about how she'll cope without him ? Its bad enough they bring back yet another dead person but now I just feel cheated. Oh and great yet another cloning / doubling storyline how original.

I did like seeing Will again as he does have great chemistry with Syd and I did  @ Rachel's ' who's Rambaldi ?' Rachel you don't know how lucky you are, ignorance really is bliss. ;) I really wanted to stick with Alias till the end but I'm really finding it hard as I think its been pretty poor. :(

Yeah, that really irritated me too. But what made it worse was people online letting the stupid writing go by saying stuff like "but we never actually heard Syd specifically say 'Vaughn's dead', she only moped and cried, but didn't say it... therefore it's totally believable she knew all along he was alive"

 Too true. It confuses me how I've enjoyed this show so much (mostly) despite hating the entire Rambaldi arc. Only 5 more eps to stick through though... and it's not as hard to get through as season 4... surely?

Since I haven`t seen all the eps of Season 5, I`d go for S4 over S5, but then I saw S4 in weekly eps - maybe it was more confusing with weeks between eps, Ria ?

It certainly wasn`t helped by being shown out of production order. <_<

So far, I`d prefer S4 - it had more subtext and more of Marshall and Dixon, never mind more Vaughn and Weiss.

I`ve had trouble following a few of the S5 eps - sorry to harp back to the glory days of S2, ( ) but in those days, I knew why they were going on missions and what they were going to do with the info they retrieved - something which I haven`t found true of some of the latest eps. :(

Yeah, that's probably true... when there are weeks between eps, it's pretty easy to lose interest, especially when you aren't that keen on them to begin with! I also really don't like Nadia, so have liked not having her around this year.

But I'll rewatch at some point (in the right order ) and find I probably enjoy it more than I remember (just like season 3). Though I don't think I'll ever like that Zombie stuff from the end of season 4...

I don't really remember it that well to be honest. But what I've liked about season 5 is all the new characters. I was very skeptical to begin with, but I've felt like they've revived the show somewhat.. breath of fresh air. And I've liked Sydney's role-change to more of a mentor for Rachel than an agent.. seemed like a natural progression. But I know that's just me, most people have hated it.

I agree there, and nothing's come close to the quality of seasons 1-3. I just don't think season 5 has been all that bad.

Fangy and grrr - June 18, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
Not sure if I could say I rate S4 more than S5 as I didn't enjoy S4 that much either but my memory of it was that despite not liking it as much as previous seasons there was still the odd good episode or the odd moment or line in S4 that I enjoyed, the only consistant bright spark in S5 for me has been Jack.

The new characters are ok but give me more of Weiss, Dixon, Marshall and yes Vaughn ( yes ok I admit I liked him ;) but more importantly I liked the Syd / Vaughn relationship ) any day. Syd hasn't been great this season imo but I made allowances because she was pregnant and grieving ... exept they undermined that last point by telling us she knew he was alive all along.
