Title: The Best Tng Episodes
Description: According to Canada's 'Space' Channel

Phillip Culley - July 1, 2004 07:17 PM (GMT)
Since it's a national holiday here, Space (Canada's sci-fi channel) have had a TNG marathon, with their 'top 10' episodes (naturally, given the difficulties in showing 2-part stories, it's only single part stories, meaning we miss out on classics like 'Best of Both Worlds', Part One, or 'Chain of Command', Part Two)

Anyway, here's their list of the top 10:

10: 7x16: "Lower Decks"
09: 4x02: "Family"
08: 3x20: "Tin Man"
07: 6x15: "Tapestry"
06: 5x24: "The Next Plase"
05: 6x14: "Face of the Enemy"
04: 5x02: "Darmok"
03: 5x18: "Cause and Effect"
02: 2x09: "The Measure of a Man"
01: 5x25: "The Inner Light"

Odd to see a few entries there, and even odder to not see "Yesterday's Enterprise" or "The Offspring"!

I'll address this one after the footy.

Back later :)

There are some strange choices there, even taking the 2-parters out. TIN MAN ??

This is more like it;

Q-Who
Who Watches the Watchers
Yesterday's Enterprise
The Offspring
Family
The Drumhead
The First Duty
The Inner Light
Frame of Mind
Preemptive Strike

In no particular order.

Pretty much agree with you, Angel, although I do like Cause And Effect and Tapestry, and Darmok is my favourite episode of the lot. :)

Yesterday's Enterprise, Family, The Offspring, The Drumhead, The First Duty, The Inner Light and Frame Of Mind are all superb.

But there are so many others! I'd probably pick Deja Q ahead of Q Who? Then there's Sarek, Sins Of The Father, Reunion, Future Imperfect, Data's Day, The Wounded, First Contact, The Nth Degree, Ensign Ro...

I know, I know. Only 10 allowed. Mutter, mutter.

Was the original list done by viewer vote?

Not this time, but for marathons in the past (Angel and Stargate SG-1), they have had a viewers vote through the website.

This is really really hard - especially as you cannot use any of the two parts ones but I would choose these ten:

PARALLELS
THE INNER LIGHT
REMEMBER ME
CAUSE AND EFFECT
YESTERDAYS ENTERPRISE
ATTACHED
TAPESTRY
RELICS
I BORG
CLUES

of course ask me again in a month and it might not be the same ten. (Maybe I am a little bias with a couple of the Dr Crusher orientated ones.)

I actually found it easier without taking the 2-parters into consideration Ken ;)

what I meant was that off the top of my head it was some of the two parters that first came to mind.

Actually, of the top of my head, there's only really BOBW that would figure in my list anyway. CHAIN OF COMMAND part 2 was good, but as a 2-parter it wasn't one of the top ten installments IMO.

mine were no particular order too.

All the episodes you have mentioned are classics although I dont think I would rate FAMILY that highly - its great but not a top ten one!!

I can't really remember a better performance from Pat Stewart than in FAMILY Ken, THE INNER LIGHT included.

I was not saying anything against his performance, I just think on the whole there are better episodes than that one.
