Maria - April 21, 2006 10:04 PM (GMT)
Hi,

I have searched the internet for help on this topic and now as you guys to help..... I very unwisely gave my Dad who is very technologically ignorant, an MP3 player and now it has a message saying reformat the player. HOW DO I DO THIS? I am pretty decent on a PC but this has me baffled and I just know there is a simple answer I just don't know what it is yet....

Please help.

Having never owned an MP3 player I can't tell you exactly, but assuming it's like any other removable storage disk.

Connect it to your PC in the normal way, then (assuming you're using Windows XP) go to Start -> My Computer, then on the icon that represents your MP3 player, right click on it and select format :)

If that doesn't w**k, post the MP3 players model number :)

Didn't HP sell rebadged iPods at one point?

So might be one of them
