Cover art for the book. Notice the magic words 'Volume One'. Amazon.com has a release date for it for September 30th. Though its British store says it'll be out in the UK on June 23rd and will include "unseen photos, scripts, behind the scenes secrets, and exclusive input from the cast and crew".

buffy_fan1 - April 13, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
The cover looks good  as for the VOL: 1 bit Joss is almost as good at marketing products as writing tv shows. :lmao: having said that most products are good value for money.

'Firefly: The Official Companion Vol. One' availability update. Titan Books have dropped another line to say that "Amazon.com now has the Firefly Companion, and is shipping it within 24 hours" and good news for UK fans as "the copies have arrived, and will start shipping from our UK distributor to bookshops (and Amazon.co.uk) next week". :)

Excellent news!

How the hell does a series that only had 15 episodes and a movie warrant a two volume companion?
The most recent book of this nature that I bought is the DS9 Companion - 7 seasons in one excellent volume. Does not compute

Joss Whedon series = money making machine (in the minds of publishers)
i.e. his fans will buy anything :whistling: ;)
willowroolz - August 24, 2006 07:28 AM (GMT)
Money-grabbing bastards <_<
I think the publishers of the DS9 Companion missed a trick there  :ph43r:

Yeah, but by the time that they got around to publishing the DS9 companion, Voyager had been running for a couple of years, they found out we (star trek fans) wouldn't take their sh*t any more, so decided quality would outstrip quantity any day.

So what you're saying is, give it another 30 years or so and they might release this in one volume

That could be down to "The Spike effect".
He killed off Buffy, then went and did the same thing to Angel. They just don't think the fan base will put up with it.
prophecy girl - August 24, 2006 09:34 AM (GMT)
that would explain why most of the recent buffy books stories take place around season two/three <_<
jamiearmour - August 24, 2006 09:38 AM (GMT)
Yep, spike was at his best when he was bad. The fans know it, and so do the Hollywood bods.
Shame they didn't realise it earlier though
We all did.
prophecy girl - August 24, 2006 09:44 AM (GMT)
yep but that would have mean to have spike dusted in season four ...................... :ponder:

I wouldn't have had a problem with that :whistling:
Stewie Griffin - August 31, 2006 03:52 PM (GMT)
My copy arrived today.
However, I didn't even get the chance to open the parcel as it was snatched from my grasp by my OH, with the words 'I'm going to wrap this and I'll give it you for your birthday!'. But thats two months away!! <_< :tear:
