I loved this double bill. Riveting from start to finish.
The plan to actually take on the Cylons, the mutual plotting of Cain and Adama :o
I'm sure though that Cain's X-O would have bottled it if she had given the order though, not sure about Starbuck, she would have carried out the order, but hated Adama for making her do it.
Apollo's epiphany was also amazing, letting himself sink into oblivion then being dragged back, that kind of stuff rarely works, but in this situation it really did.
The battle scenes were stunning to say the least, both battlestars going all out against the Cylon base stars, they never really stood a chance did they? How much of a set back will this be for the Cylons though? Do they only have the one "resurrection ship"? I guess that's a question we'll need to wait to find out the answer to.
All in all, a stunning combination of plots, counterplots and stunning storytelling. The highlight of the current season IMO.

Simply brilliant.
What was the impact of Baltar reciting the lines the Cylon had said to him, to Gina (is that her name?) ? In my mind it was him dispelling her from his mind as well as reaching out to this abused Cylon.
Blinked and I missed the stealth ship being destroyed, the pace of the fight scenes were amazing, good to see the humans winning for a bit as well. :yahoo:

seeing as I wasn't even planning to watch the second half of the season until I purchased the DVDs I started watching last night cold after an eight-week break since Pegasus. I really enjoyed these episodes but it took me a little bit to settle in and after the wondrous Pegasus episode it was a little bit of an anti-climax. still very good but slightly disappointing.
I loved how Roslin so coldly and without hesitation suggested Adama should kill Caine before she kills him. I really liked watching his reluctance and as he gradually changes to the point where he realises he has to do this for the entire fleet whether he wants to or not. I liked how he got Starbuck on board as he didn't force her to carry out the mission. I was a little disappointed with Starbuck, even though she would have gone through with it (probably) her incessant sweating was a clear giveaway there was something wrong. Actually I expected her to fail to assassinate Caine because of this. I know essentially she was asked to commit murder as opposed to defending herself. I just think it didn't seem in her character to be so nervous and uncool.
I really liked how Baltar used no 6's lines for her flesh-and-blood counterpart on the Pegasus. Is a Gina her name? I don't have at clue. Anyway I liked how it appeared that he was letting go of No 6 in favour of the real-life abused version of her. I really liked how Baltar helped her to escape and encouraged her to get her revenge. I was very glad she did because I absolutely hated Caine and she needed to go by any means necessary.
After the disappointment of the season nine finale of Stargate's battle scenes the two colonial ships attacking the basestars was absolutely amazing and was a true joy to watch.

Absolutely, and completely outstanding. Very tense, and gripping from the teaser of the first part to the end credits of the second.
The only thing I didn't like, and I agree with Star Fury, was Kara's state when she was waiting for the word to kill Caine. She'd have kept cool, whatever her feelings about what she'd been asked to do.
Terrific stuff, and I'm desperate for the next episode.

Fracking brilliant.
The battle scenes were terrific and the plotting between Adama and Cain was riveting stuff. I personally think Starbuck's reaction was spot on. She'd shoot the enemy in a heartbeat but to gun down somebody in cold blood is different, especially if it's a superior officer on your side and on Pegasus as well. I think I may be a bit nervous then.
Bit confused about Gina. How did she get off the ship after shooting Cain? And does this mean that my namesake is no more?

I think that your namesake is no more, but I guess we'll see :ponder:
wrt getting off the ship, we don't know about that do we?

How did the flesh-and-blood No. 6 get off Galactica during the first season? Nobody knows that either. I'm just assuming she got off Pegasus and is now somewhere on Galactica or the President's ship... Are they calling it Air Force One?
I definitely wouldn't think your namesake is no more. She may well continue to exist? He may've let go but whatabout her? She maybe mightily(spelling?) pissed at him...a woman scorned & all that!

If it was you, I or anybody else on this board then I'm sure we would all be bricking it and sweating bucket loads. Starbuck is a trained officer, experienced and used to coping with and performing in extremely high stress situations. Had she gone through with it it may not had even been her first assassination. If you recall back to season one on the prison ship she was the sniper. maybe at some point in her life she was an assassin?
Anyway my personal opinion is she shouldn't have been so visibly nervous.

Stunning from start to almost finish. Thought the battle scenes were better than practically anything else I've seen. I loved the way we were chucked straight into the middle of the attack on the base stars
Thought the tension in the second part was amazing, with the various assassination plots being played out
I always knew soap had a purpose :ponder: :o
The end, imo, was a total cop out, though. I liked the principle of Baltar giving her the opportunity for revenge, but how on earth did Gina get from the brig to Cain's quarters, with a gun, without anyone stopping her?? Everyone on the Pegasus must have known she was a Cylon :ermm: A very convenient way of preventing Adama and co having to deal with the Cain situation head on, and very out of sorts with everything else that happened.
Apart from that, marvellous. Can't wait to see how Admiral Adama handles the situation from here

That was the most intense hour and half of any show I've seen... so very very good.
Somewhat inclined to agree with Steve's comments about it being cop-out end, but I can see the fall out from a out and out assassination being massive to allow the two ships to co-exist. What I actually thought was missing was a link between Gaius and Adama re No.6.
I almost wanted a scene where Gaius walks in and nods at Adama…
Apart from that, simply fantastic.
