Does anyone know of anywhere where you can still buy the "proper" DVD sets (ie book style) and R2? - I've tried Play/CD-wow/Amazon.

I'm starting to panic that with the release of this amray crap I'll miss out on the proper ones. I've just picked up S4 on E-bay and theres an s5 set ending in a few days time but I'd prefer to cut the hassle and just get a set if poss.

TIA

I think my Virgin in Sheffield might have had the 'book' style AS5 set still in stock but it was a staggering £80. I do my shopping on Monday so I will have a look tomorrow. How 'desperate' are you? sk

Not £80 desperate :)

I think I'll be able to get a set on E-bay for £40-£50 if I'm patient.

Just how many crappy looking sets will they mass produce?

My sister has bought what she thought was the big box set from China. She didn't realise what she was getting and it is a fairly nice A4 box set but it is all in Chinese and some of the blurb on the front and back that has been transfered to English transfers pretty bad.

She is happy with it but I think it looks like a cheapy set. I think if you are going to buy the boxsets then you have to do it properly. Although on the other hand if everyone thought like me the prices would still be £80 +!!!!

I had a look today and the boxset they had left was AS2 and not AS5. Your best bet will surely be ebay. The only other thing I will mention is that I bought AS5 for £35 brand new from Amazon so it seems to me the price you pay should not be very high. sk

Update: after a few attempts which reached silly prices I picked up a set on E-Bay for £56 which is "okay" especially considering some sets went for £75+

I have the same issue. I reckon I'll have to ebay it and hope I get lucky too. :(

I've been having "lots of fun" repeatedly bidding on Angel S5's for the last few days, then forgetting to check them until I found out I'd been outbid. It's turned into a bit of a mission. <_<

The closest I came was 6 mins away from winning one for £51 on Sunday, then getting distracted with w**k and finding out it'd gone for £63. Grr... The highest I'm willing to go to is about £60. Some I've bid on or watched have gone for around £51 and the highest so far is £72.

I'm bidding on another one at the moment which currently stands at £47 with 5 hours to go. Fingers crossed.

Well, i may not have got Reading tickets....yet, but I did manage to win my Angel auction. I finally got one for £63 - a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I was getting sick of constantly bidding.

Excuse my ignorance but do you support Reading or is it a convention or something? sk
