Title: Bonkers Voyager Scheduling
John Brawn - March 14, 2006 08:44 PM (GMT)
Is anyone else dumbfounded at the bonkers scheduling of Voyager at 1.30-3.30pm on Ch5?
I loved it when Ch5 showed two episodes on Saturday evenings but this is just madness. My video is suffering meltdown. sk

Serves it right for trying to record Voyager! ;)

How long can this last - surely nobody is tuning into a double bill of Voyager every weekday afternoon?
If they are they are crazy, that much can kill :fear:.

I watched when they showed it on BBC 2, but that was 6:45 in the evening once a week.
Too much Voyager can cause boredom, especially in the earlier seasons.

I watched a Voyager re run on Sky back in 2004 recording and watching five episodes a week which was more than enough per week. I can't imagine anybody watching 10 episodes of Voyager every week.

I've been picking and chosing- taping it then fast forwarding episodes that don't seem promising.
Or, as I w**k shifts I'm about during the week quite alot, so I'll start watching it, if its no good put in a tape for second one and do something else instead.
In my student days I probably would have been happy enough to watch it as shown though.
The worst episodes are very ropey.

I am bothering to watch them all. I must admit I am loving it. There was probably a better more ensemble approach to the eariler episodes. To some extent they played to their strengths in the later seasons by focusing on Seven, Janeway and the doctor but they lost something. sk

I think Voyager was probably better when we watched it the first time around, there are a number of classic eps that i could watch over and over, and others where i think why did i watch this before.
I'll watch it if there's nothing better on or if it's a remotely interesting ep, but i'm not taping them. Which season are they showing at the moment?
That reminds me really need to see Fairhaven (the one with Tom's holodeck irish town) again at some point - that always makes me laugh.

They are currently blasting through S3 at the moment so no Seven yet. sk

Now they seem to have stopped. How irritating. sk

Or, based on your point of view, a blessing in disguise?

There was definately "relief" in my mix of emotions when I realised it wasn't on this week. Enjoyed the two parter set in LA in the far distant past of 1996.
By the by, Richard Herring is a fan, judging by something he said on the radio the other day. This probably doesn't mean much to anybody.

IIRC Richard Herring said that he likes 7 of 9. Thats a very different thing to saying you like Voyager.
Its not like he's a personal friend or anything, although I do have two emails from him sitting in my inbox.
