Synopsis

When an unseen force commits several murders where a young woman is present, Mulder suspects that it is the spirit of the woman's former boss who was believed to have committed suicide but was actually murdered and he is protecting her from his business partner.

This is one of my least favourite episodes of the first season. I think maybe it's because I find the actress, Lisa Waltz, so damn irritating.

On the plus side, the way Mulder finds his way to her (by getting the fingerprints onto his glasses, and then the security video from the cash machine) is very clever.

The moments when, first, he rushed into Lauren's house to find one of her assailants dead and the other being choked to death whilst hanging in mid air and then, second, the office is turned into a cyclone of paperwork are very effective.

But overall it's one of those episodes that doesn't really do anything or go anywhere. It's just a bit dull.

I agree with Steve on this one. If anything however, I'd say it's an improvement over the last episode, but not by much.

There are a few memorable scenes, but ultimately, the episode doesn't really go anywhere, and it takes it's time to do so !!

After four sensational episodes, we now have a couple of clunkers :(
