Title: Questions I'm Uncertain About!

Maria - February 4, 2006 10:10 AM (GMT)
Ok, so I thought I knew everything about Angel Investigations and there pop a few questions that I haven't a clue how to answer without guessing. So......I thought I would ask a few friends the answers.......

How old is Wesley?

How old is Connor?

How old is Gunn?

Fred?

What happened to Justine?

That's it for now but if anytone else has questions, join in the thread!

prophecy girl - February 4, 2006 04:05 PM (GMT)
connor: iirc cordie (in season four): 18 years old

wesley: well from what we know :whistling: about wesley father, i would say around 40/45

justine probably went back to a normal life (after the lecture of wesley when he let her go at the end of deep down)

Hmm... my guesses:

Connor- 15 till they decided he was going to shag Cordelia, so they upped the ante.

Wesley- 30 ish when we first see him.... (middle aged in his teens but improving rapidly with distance from home... NB If that's Wesley's dad, and you were Wesley's mum, wouldn't you leave it till the Very Last Minute before consenting to broodiness?)

Justine- headed for York to track down Holtz's collateral descendants..got distracted en route and is now a trainee pole dancer in Tadcaster.

prophecy girl - February 5, 2006 07:56 PM (GMT)
i suppose fred and gunn are around the same age and well younger than wesley

Mehitabel - February 5, 2006 08:09 PM (GMT)
If my brain was w**king I'd do the maths from Gunn selling his soul for transport at 17...

Fred must be about the same (American degrees more variable than here I think...) but if she was over here she'd already be Dr Birkle with knobs on by 24...

prophecy girl - February 5, 2006 08:22 PM (GMT)
i checked and the flashback in double or nothing is 7 years earlier so yeah 17+7=24

and well isn't fred a brain so she might have skip a class or two

jamiearmour - February 5, 2006 08:40 PM (GMT)
Wesley? I'd have guessed mid to late 30's (but acts like he's in his 50's)

Connor? He must be nearly 3 by now. Possibly 4

Gunn and Fred are both mid to late 20's (ish)

As for justine? Well she's w**king in a burger king in Sacramento. She's still evil and sick in the head in her spare time.

It's not really a question, it's more like a verification thing.

I wanted to know if the lab used in season 2's epsidoe Happy Anniversary later went on to become Fred's lab in season 5? 'Cause they look alike with the stairs leading up to an office and everything just looks similar.

So are they? =P

Sounds reasonable, but it's more likely that the set would have been torn down rather than saving it for two-three years :ponder:

The layout is similar though, but from memory there are a fair few differences

prophecy girl - February 22, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
no, fred was in pylea 5 years before season two (according the librarian in belonging)

Angel Season 1 Episode 18 "Five By Five" - Trivia - Continuity & Plot hole mistakes

Continuity: When Faith is sitting at the window and looks at the piece of broken glass she used to torture Wesley, it has a different shape than the one she first takes to torture Wesley. When she drops it out the window it has its original shape again. (Timecode available).

Mistake Plot hole: Angel finds Faith by tracking her to the apartment of the man whose wallet and keys she had stolen. The problem is that it seems unbelievable that the police wouldn’t have used this method to track down Faith themselves. There is no sign of the police until after the disturbance of Angel and Faith fighting gets them interested.

your probably going to think im really stupid but i have loads of questions about s4. :ermm:

slouching toward bethlehem.... what does this saying mean?

habeas corpses .....what does this mean? i obviously know what corpses means but what is habeas?

why did the beast come out of the ground where conner was born and what is his connection with him because is habeas corpses the beast knows his name.

appart from the fact that she eats people jasmine is kind of good (i think) then why was cordy evil when she was pregnant with her e.g... why did she kill lylah? why didnt she want them to give angel his soul back etc.

i have more Qs  but i cant think of them all right now :)

prophecy girl - June 12, 2006 09:55 AM (GMT)
1/Trivia: slouching toward bethlehem is a quote from the W B Yeats' poem The Second Coming. Other telling lines in the poem include:

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world
The blood-dimmed tide is loosened.

The poem ends with the lines:

And what rough beast, it's hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

A hint of things to come, perhaps?

I think there are a lot of unsanswered questions on S4 that I hoped S5 would answer.

I would be glad to know the answers too.

I'm sure Habeas Corpses was convered in the show as to the meaning but I can't be sure.

Claire is around at the moment, hopefully she will have some answers. :yahoo:

to disturb the angel team to investigate cordie pregnacy, there was no way for them to be sure the baby was a good or a bad thing. she didn't want them to investigate (but then there was nothing about jasmine in the books). i think cordie (or jasmine) would have given angel his soul back of the birth

thanks prophecy girl and maria :)

prophecy girl - June 12, 2006 10:31 AM (GMT)
The exact translation of habeas corpus is from Latin and means "you may have the body."

in the law: A Habeas Corpus is a legal writ that protects an individual against arbitrary imprisonment by requiring that any person arrested be brought before a court for formal charge. If the charge is considered to be valid, the person must submit to trial; if not, the person goes free. When the law is suspended, then individuals can be imprisoned indefinitely and without charge. prophecy girl - June 13, 2006 10:08 AM (GMT)

angelus entering church, killing nuns and priests without problem, ....

angel enter the church in "i got you under my skin" and he feel unconfortable

buffy_fan1 - June 13, 2006 03:40 PM (GMT)
Why didn't Angel try to rescue more humans from Pylea they were slaves who were trapped there.

prophecy girl - June 13, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
maybe they told them how to go home (mention of the book) and leave

maybe some of them decide to stay (well we don't know what the one who was with wesley decided ......... be part of the new governement or else)

:ponder:

Mehitabel - June 15, 2006 03:33 PM (GMT)
Were they, in fact, Pylean humans, and not strays from our dimension :whistling: They might not have enjoyed LA much if they were used to fresh country air and different sunshine.

prophecy girl - June 15, 2006 04:17 PM (GMT)
depend how long the humans have been in pylea (all their life or less? ...... fred was there for the last 5 years and i doubt there are that much book(s) that open a portal to pylea)

Mehitabel - June 15, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
The nice rebel humans dodn't seem quite as round the bend as Fred (trying to put this nicely), so maybe they were locals?

prophecy girl - June 16, 2006 09:01 AM (GMT)
i don't remember if there were any children with the human in pylea

Pylean humans kept too busy and oppressed for wooing and wedding?

Also, child actors, why go there if you don't have to? :frusty:

Happy weeked!

prophecy girl - June 16, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)

I very much doubt it too. I was hoping to see Six Feet Under S5 and Alias S4 plus all the seasons of 24 which remain unaired. Never mind. sk

Six Feet Under and West Wing for me- I thought theyd be following up elite showings with terrestrial much sooner... now I'm not sure it's ever going to happen.

How many of us are still holding out for TV Angel 5 anyway? I stuck it out in ignorance and spoiler-fear till about 9 months ago..and guessed then that five had bottled it.

When they showed the last series of SFA on E4 it was stated catagorically that it was not going to be shown on terrestrial C4

I am fairly sure I saw S2 of 24 as the last thing I remember was the President being infected with some sort of virus. I presume that was S2 anyway. sk

The beeb had the rights to S1 and 2, but Sky One outbid them for the other seasons and bought all the rights to it, so it won't reach terrestrial until those rights run out if at all. I assume the beeb still have their S1/2 rights and decided to get their money's worth by repeating S1.
