Title: Random Questions I'm Unsure Of
Description: but all you guys will know the answer to
Maria - February 4, 2006 09:52 AM (GMT)
Ok, just when you think you know all there is about the Buffyverse, I come along needing help!
I am uncertain of a few things that I am sure you will all know the answers to.
If anyone else has questions they don't know the answers to, please feel free to join in the thread!
How old is Giles?
How old is Faith?
Were we ever explained the reason Angel returned from Hell in season three? I know Giles was looking into it but I never actually knew the answer???
That's it for now unless I can think of any others. I had loads earlier but can't think if them now!!
If anyone is interested, I will be adding the same question over on the Angel board.

[b]How old is Faith?

Bet you're not going to get any answers more exact than 'approximately as ond as the actors playing them'.
Further thoughts: Giles would think it extremely impolite to inquire-(but he's over the age of consent, so that works for me...)
Faith: you could try cutting her leg off and counting the rings; well, you could TRY....

Good point!
I'm glad I didn't ask for Angel adn Spike, we would have gotten a slight cahnge of minds in the thoughts of as old as the actors! :ph43r:
goth willow fan - February 4, 2006 11:49 AM (GMT)
Faith is younger than Buffy by a year or so, that's about as accurate as it gets.
NJS - February 4, 2006 12:13 PM (GMT)
Amends suggested Angel was brought back by The First but didn't set it in stone.
Of course the real culprit was named in Angel S4 :)
buffy_fan1 - February 4, 2006 12:41 PM (GMT)
How old is Giles? I think Dawn said it best: I think it's 'cause he's just so ... old. I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word "newfangled" one time. So he's gottabe pretty far gone.
Well if I think I'm right if saying that Buffy would now be 25 which would mean Faith is 24.
As for Angel there seems to be no certain answer I always thought that the powers that be bought him back as they needed a someone his powers to help guard the world against The First.

well some said that kakistos was the cruciementium of faith (so around 18 in season 3)
giles: well he was in his 20ies when the eyghton thingie happened and he did say that he hadn't seen phillips for a good 20 years so around 40/45
angel: officiallly 243 (well he probably didn't count how long he spent in hell ............ some say 100 years, some hundreds of years, .... )

Confused- so why isn't he dead- I presume Faith passed the test?
prophecy girl - February 5, 2006 07:36 PM (GMT)
well something as wrong as kralick escaping probably happen (trick passing by for one thing i suppose)
and if faith was under 18 in season three, she wasn't in season four or she would have been sent to a kid prison (or whatever they called jail for junior bad guys)
Mehitabel - February 5, 2006 07:41 PM (GMT)
Yeh but this is California, where they execute people...maybe she got a long jail sentence instead BECAUSE she was still young (ish).
Cant believe she's meant to be younger than Buffy- it never occured to me that she was supposed to be...

I always thought Giles was about 40/45 also and Faith, a year younger than Buffy. As for Angel he came back from hell to be with me  :lmao:

buffy_fan1 - February 7, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
Did Jonathan go to UC Sunnydale? I was watching Superstar the at the end of the episode when he is talking to Buffy he says no one is talking to but he didn't have many friends so did he mean the people on campus?
jamiearmour - February 8, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
I don't think Johnathan did anything after graduating from high school. Apart from months of therapy no doubt :lmao:
Then he degenerated into delusion (superstar) and half hearted evil :o Then premature death :(
I always liked "victim" johnny. He was kinda sweet in a way. An inocuous background character who didn't deserve his final fate.
prophecy girl - February 8, 2006 10:44 AM (GMT)
I think jonathan spent more of his time playing dungeon and dragons with andrew ................. but then again how did he met warren, a technology student who was from an other university (even if he was coming back to mummy from time to time)

Again, (a compelling need for) therapy seems to be the common link... :naughty:
buffy_fan1 - February 8, 2006 05:18 PM (GMT)
Good point, Claire maybe he went to technology college after therapy? :ponder: I agree with Jamie that was a basically a good guy he just made some bad choices at least he tried to put things right at the very end of season 6 and again in 7. I think he would have been a better Scooby then Andrew as he was just annoying!
Did Joss intend end the series with The Gift in season 5? As I once heard him discribe it as the perfect ending to the series. Did he decide that there was more to tell or did UPN make him an offer he couldn't refuse?
jamiearmour - February 8, 2006 08:18 PM (GMT)
I have a question that's been niggling at me since the last time I watched "Same time, Same Place" at the start of season 7.
Willow had unknowingly made herself invisible and undetectable to her 'friends' but Anya was still able to see her.
Was this some hint that Willow doesn't class Anya as a friend?? :o :tear:

I don't think she was thinking that Anya wasn't her friend but Buffy and Xander were the two most important people in her life and she wasn't as close to Anya. At the time it wasn't a conscious decision to cast a spell she was just worried it wasn't until afterward that she realised what happened that just by think about it that cause the spell.

Coo, I never heard that, and would not choose to believe it unless Mr Whedon himself turned up on my door step with booze, flowers and large amounts of grovelling; I would allow him to point out that if he'd ever though that, he'd rightly changed his mind realised that Dawn-centred cheesey sensationalism was really not a good place to leave it, and given the world much more fun in series 6 and 7...
prophecy girl - February 10, 2006 11:05 AM (GMT)
i think joss wanted to end the 100th episode in a spectacular way and like upn/wb was still arguing when they starting filming the episode, he decidedto end the way he would have like the serie to end (iirc)

She was supposed to be slightly older that the rest of the potentials....but not as old as Buffy, Willow etc........so I guess that would put her about 19/20 in S7....
Not even sure how old Iyari Limon is.......I know her Birthday is July 8 but have no idea what year...... :ponder:
I've got my S7 DVD set in w**k with me tonight......might have a look later to see if its mentioned in 'The killer in me' or 'First date' :)

She must be around 19 or so, any younger and I don't think her courting of Willow would have worked (or have been allowed at all on American tv for that matter).
