I don't know if this is official, or just some fan site trying to raise funding. I hope its real, as it could have implications for a lot of cancelled shows.

star_fury - January 31, 2006 03:05 PM (GMT)
I doubt it's official but I hope it helps the second season on to the air quicker. How much would you pay per episode to see Firefly resurrected?

prophecy girl - February 1, 2006 10:29 AM (GMT)
[CODE]I would be willing to pay to watch
Firefly Season 2:
$1.99 USD per episode
$2.49 USD per episode
$2.99 USD per episode
$3.49 USD per episode
$3.99 USD per episode

I think it's just an information gathering sight to see how viable a second series of Firefly would be. The site States no affiliation with Fox or universal and just seems to be trying to find a home for Firefly. I suppose if they can't find a network they are seeing if enough people would just buy the unaired DVDs/download .. Seems like a plan to me.

The last watcher - February 1, 2006 06:01 PM (GMT)
I though Joss had said a definit NO to a series 2......preferring to concentrate on Serenity II/III....if the funding materialises of course......

star_fury - February 2, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
I don't know if it was just me but the way I read it was if and when a second season of Firefly is picked up by some Channel or other it would not be called Firefly or Serenity. Have I misunderstood?

prophecy girl - February 3, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
i think i read something like that (but it was a comment from a channel iirc)

Dan Brown - February 3, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
One response - doubtful

A friend just saw Nate Fillion, Summer Glau and Gina Torres coming out of one of the exec buildings at Paramount where they are putting together the new CW unit.

Hmmmmm? Will Firefly fly again?

Nah they're discussing a new pilot for a comedy series called 'How I met your reaver'....

expect guess spots from Alyson and Alexis :ph43r:

Since the CW is the WB and UPN squashed together, maybe the new channel will have to combine shows to keep them all... Firefly Meets Charmed, for instance. ;)

ooooooooohh.....

'A friend' eh?!! Yeah that is a credible source!

Come on.....please....I would love more firefly but i just don't see it happenning. Fox has the rights for the show on TV and Joss has said that he doesn't want to go back there. The film didn't do to well at the box -office and DVD sales are tbc. I just don't think people should get their hopes up.

It would be great for it to come back but I have my doubts about the credibility of 100% of info on the web...until I hear it from Joss...it's all rumors and red herring.

And good ole Joss himself is not averse to tossing the odd 'Scarlet Kipper' into the mix.....

All we can do is wait and see.......I too would love to see more from the Firefly 'verse........but I'm not getting my hopes up either.... :(

How I met your Reaver....... :ponder: sounds like a fun romp....

prophecy girl - February 10, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
i think we have more chance to have some firefly books than a second serie

star_fury - February 10, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
After watching the Q & A with Joss Whedon on disc two of Serenity I think it's very doubtful we will see a second season of Firefly. I think most people( especially those in the audience) want a second season rather than a sequel movie but the movie seems the more likely to happen. finger crossed for a sequel.

I've heard the CW is considering bringing it back as a series, miniseries or movie for next season.

Joss Whedon destroys Firefly New Season rumors
Joss Whedon Buffy writer & director

Abusing links is the only way I know how to live. But I am here with a purpose, my friends. Call me joss Whedon: Rumor Crusher! (Or "Mister Fendendo", if we’re being intimate.)

Since everyone’s all abuzz with the CW rumor, I have to get all official and say: WE’VE STARTED FILMING NEW EPISODES! Of Dateline. I’m such a troll.

No, there haven’t been any overtures from the CW as regards a SereniFly spin-off. I haven’t even heard the orchestra tuning up. But if they happen to come calling, I do know what I would do:

1) In order to keep the show cost efficient, we would get rid of a few things we don’t need, like spaceships, floors, and Jewel. (You thought I was gonna say ’costumes’, didn’t you? Porn guy.)

2) Nathan is busy making movies, but since I don’t want new cast members, everybody in the cast would just move over one. Jewel (she’s back!) would play Mal, Ron would play Kaylee, Morena would play Book, and so on.

3) People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don’t like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy.

4) The actors can make up their dialogue. I’m bushed, and they’re all funny, and the hell with it. Maybe I’ll give them a premise to w**k off of, like "You’re all in trouble" or "Wash has a thing". They could maybe light it too.

5) Klingons, but not alien Klingons. But still Klingons.

So already the show is running like a well oiled companion. I’m just proud to be a part of the Country Western network, and I know this will be their biggest hit since "Have Space-Gun, Will Travel."

I hope, as always, this clears things up. And I hope the executives at the Carnie Wilson network DO give me a call. I’ve got a million ideas for redoing their offices.

Power to the people who are powerful enough to crush the other people!

  jossy.

A little more hope for "Firefly" fans
Firefly

You just can’t get us Browncoats to abdicate, no matter how disappointing "Serenity" might have been said to be financially. We already know of an independent effort being led to bring a second season to television, but now someone else might be stepping in the club.

According to E! Online gossip columnist Kristin, the new television entity known as CW ( born from the ashes of UPN and the WB, scheduled to go on the air next September) might be interested in reviving the "Firefly" universe in one form or another.

Writes Kristin, "I’ve heard the CW is considering bringing it back as a series, miniseries or movie for next season. Hurrah! For you who missed my message board posting, on Tuesday, Nate Fillion, Summer Glau and Gina Torres were seen coming out of one of the exec buildings at Paramount, where they are putting together the new CW unit."

Meanwhile, creator Joss Whedon was interviewed recently by the folks at IESB, where unavoidably the question of a sequel or new series came back. "I want whatever’s right for the story, if it was made for tv I don’t have a problem with that" said Joss, "but the fact of the matter is nobody is calling right now."

Even though he said to have shifted his focus on other projects, the man definitely won’t close the door on his brainchild. "I am never not going to be interested," he insisted. And I say Amen to that, brother!

one day, he say no, the other, he say maybe .......... :ph43r: :ermm:
