The crew are sweeping Moya to root out any remaining Peacekeeper technology when D'argo discovers a hatch installed by them. Removing it has some very unexpected results...

I think bottle shows can be some of the best episodes of a series because they force the writers to be more creative.

This one is a case in point: it makes excellent use of the existing sets, kicks off one of the major ongoing storylines and features some excellent character development.

The scenes of Crichton being pursued by the rampaging DRDs is pretty well done, considering the potential for unintentional humour, and the reasons behind their "malfunction" is carefully unravelled. When we find out why it's been happening it is a big surprise and a challenging new direction for the series to head in.

The puppeteering of Pilot is quite amazing in this episode.

We finally find out why D'Argo was imprisoned, and in a very clever manner. There aren't any flashbacks or scenes of extensive exposition, just a number of carefully constructed scenes between the other crewmembers and D'Argo that lead to the revelations about his past.

The final scene of the episode, between D'Argo and Aeryn, is one of my favourite moments of the first season. It shows how far both of these characters have come quite brilliantly.

Another great episode.

I don't know why John was complaining about having Aeryn on his shoulders, I'd have thought that would have been many a mans dream!!

But seriously, this is one of those episodes that I kinda like but can never really put my finger on why. It's good to finally learn what D'Argo's true crime was (or the crime he was convicted of anyway) as other shows would've milked that cow all season. And why does he always want to kill John

Favourite bits -

John trying to expain to Aeryn the relationship between horse and rider LOL!!
John calmly ignoring Aeryns more and more frantic shouts when she is glued to the floor and then the whole unglueing bit. So sweet.
John's "You guys don't have chocolate" answer in response to Aeryn asking him why he wants to go home.

And yes, the DRD's were pretty scary!!!

Handy that Aeryn retained knowledge of Leviathon operation eh?

If she had been facing the other way he might not have been complaining so much... :ph43r:

Is it just me or does everyone find the whole D'Argo/Rygel thing disturbing?

I was touched by D'Argo's tears, awwwwwh. It's all starting to make sense, poor D'Argo, lost his wife and his child. That explains a lot.

I really liked this ep, I can't really add much more, I think Steve and Melian have pretty much covered everything

I loved the Aeryn and John scene, why would he want to come back to such a virus infected planet "You don't have chocolate" LOL

And now I want to see D'Argo find his son. :(

Loved the effects for the DRD's, spooky eyes!
