Title: War With The Gods Pt 8!
Description: Many Angel S5 spoilers

jamiearmour - December 8, 2005 12:09 AM (GMT)
The Axe was raised to strike Wesley down, for the alleged crimes of Abuse and torture. Senga brought the axe forward, when once again she found her hand held fast by magical means. Senga turned, this force was more powerful than before, she saw Willow and Tara, standing fast, hand in hand facing down the enraged slayer. “Let me go, ya pair o’ bitches!”

“That’s witches, Senga.” Willow replied. “You may be strong, and the axe is making you stronger, and apparently impervious to magic, how did you manage that by the way?”

“We protect the true slayer.”

“We? So you’re not really Senga? Great, now take this.” Willow almost shouted as hand in hand with Tara, she stood, a ball of incandescent energy flew from the clenched hands of the witches. Now most witches gather in covens, because as logic dictates, two witches are better than one. But in the case of these two witches, they operate together on a far higher level. Willow, in her own right is a very powerful wiccan, but in the company of the woman she loves, she finds her powers amplified a hundred fold. The result was, well, spectacular kind of touches on the very fringes of the true description of the events.

Senga vanished in an explosion of what appeared to be blue flames. The world seemed, to all intents and purposes, as though it had stopped, dead, in a fraction of a second. Willow and Tara’s powerful blast of energy flew slowly through the air, never wavering in it’s advance on where Senga HAD been standing, so now the blazing ball of energy was heading directly for Wesley.

The Amazon Basin.

“Did you just call me a beach?”

“No, I called you a beetch.” Kendra retorted, “and now I shall keel you. Traitor.”

“Keel? I mean, come on, who really talks like that?” Faith asked, as she deftly avoided another of Kendra’s kicks. “And you fight like a girl, a wimpy girl at that. It’s no wonder you died so quick.”

Kendra screamed as she intensified her attack, “Buffy was right, anger is a vepon.”

“Anger’s a what now?” Faith was enjoying this fight, perhaps a little too much.

“Lets get after this artefact. While Faith keeps dead girl over there busy. She may be a dead slayer, but she’s still a slayer.” Oz whispered to Robin. The pair started to creep towards the, now ruined temple. Almost completely razed to the ground.

“Now where do you two boys think you’re going?” Oz stared, shocked at the sight before him.

“But… I went to your funeral.”

“Yes, and now I’m back.” Joyce replied.

“I am going to keel you.”

“Uhm, call me stupid, but isn’t that a part of a boat?”

“Mock me if you weesh, I shall steel keel you for turning against the light.”

Kendra flew at Faith, throwing all of her anger into her attack. She flew straight into Faith’s waiting fist and literally bounced backwards, as though she had thrown herself against a wall. “I recognise your fighting style, get a few hints from Buff before you died eh? There’s a bit of Mr Giles’ wooden fighting approach in there too. Buffy mentioned you quite a bit, when I came along, she says you were a nice kid, just a little, you know, slow.” Kendra flew into another attack, easily parried by Faith. “She’s the one who taught you to channel your anger into your
attacks, right?” Her only response was another grunt as Kendra kicked wildly at her head. Faith simply side stepped each kick as though she had seen them coming from miles away. “Thing is, you’re attacking with your anger now Hon. Try channelling it.” Faith dodged a low punch. “You know? Stay angry, but feed off it.” Another punch, higher this time, Faith retaliated with a kick to Faith’s chest. Again the dead slayer found herself on the ground. “B’ tells me that you were killed by Drusilla. I know that would make me angry too, she’s not exactly the brightest star in the sky, and you let her kill you? Wow, how stupid are you.”

“Stop it!” Kendra roared as she flew directly at Faith, no fists, no kicks, just aiming for a direct body slam. Again, Faith dodged, with little visible effort. “You ridicule me. Why? You could have killed me before now, why have you not?”

“A few years ago? I would have offed you without a second thought. But you’re still a slayer. That means something, at least, to some of us it does. You’re one of us Kendra, why are you fighting me?” Faith said, almost tempted to offer a hand to help Kendra to her feet, then thinking better of her poor tactical judgement.

“You have turned against the Light. The powers that be have declared you evil. You must die, along with all that is evil.” Kendra spat.

“That includes the entire world does it?” Faith retaliated.

“What? No. Not the entire world, only the evil that exists on it.” Kendra sounded uncertain as she spoke.

“That’s not entirely true sweetie.” A voice from behind her made Faith spin, she recognised the voice immediately, but still the image of Joyce Summers knocked her off her guard. “Hello Faith. I’m glad you’re keeping well, I do hope
you’re not still trying to kill my daughter?”

“Uhm, no, we made our peace ma’am.” As always in the company of this redoubtable woman, Faith found herself reduced to a child, caught in the gaze of the mother of all mothers.

“I’m glad, she always did like you, even after you, well, you went evil didn’t you?” Kendra watched dumbfounded as Faith’s face turned ashen, then began turning bright crimson. “But as long as you’ve made your peace with her, that’s fine with me.” Joyce smiled, the smile seemed to shine into Faith’s soul, and deep down, the glimmer of jealousy shone brightly, as she remembered all of the things that Buffy had, that Faith herself had never been given. “Now, Kendra.” Joyce turned to the girl as she struggled to regain her footing. “We’ve been lied to Kendra. The Powers that Be, want to bring about the end of the world, to destroy everything. The reason they tell us that Buffy and her friends are evil, is because they don’t want the world to end, whick is quite understandable, when you think about it rationally. I mean, they’re still alive after all. Well, for the most part anyway.”

“Why would dey lie to us? It’s not right?” Kendra asked, confused.

“They feel it’s time for the end of days. Someone has told them lies, lies that have led them to declare war on a Universal scale. Good versus evil, and the only way to differentiate the living, is to kill them, to see who’s side they go to. Then wipe them out, in a spiritual sense. Then, in their opinion, balance would be restored. The kind of balance that they like anyway. A balance composed purely of Good.”

“Got it!” Another voice came from the direction that Joyce had just come from. Oz and Robin ran, as though the hordes of Heaven were chasing them, which wasn’t entirely innacurate. “We’ve brought some friends with us.” From behind them, glowing figures on fiery wings descended on the group. Faith, for some instinctive reason threw herself in front of Joyce and grabbed an Angel by the head and twisted it’s neck till she heard the bones crack, and the Angel fell, dead. Or as close to dead as an Angel can be. Oz threw something to her, Faith caught it in her right hand, and looked at the small item, about 12 inches of wood, with stone head, encircled with jewels and runes. The spear. “Look out!” Oz shouted, Faith looked up and two more Angels were descending on her, she raised the spear
head, and swung it accross their faces. The Angels vanished into blue vapour. Faith smiled.

“Now that’s more like it.” With that Faith really threw herself into the fight, Angelic figures swarmed over her, but more and more of them evaporated as Faith struck out with the spear. Then finally, there was only her. She stood, with the spear head still firmly gripped in her hand. A glow had formed around her, the blue haze that had been a flight of Angels, seemed to be flowing into her.

Lourdes.

“I’m not going to kill her.”

“Why the hell not? You’ve already done it once, grow a pair and just do it.”

“What the hell happened to you in there Angel?”

“I saw the light.” Angel responded.
