Resident Evil 4 and God of War were on the list of the top 10 most violent video games as rated by the Family Media Guide, the GameSpot Web site reported.
The ratings, based on the watchdog group's assessment of game content provided by its sister company, PSVratings, were released on Thanksgiving, at the start of the holiday shopping season, the site reported. This year's list included what the group called "some of the most ultraviolent video games ever created."
The top 10 games, in no particular order, also included the non-SF&F games Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, NARC, Killer 7, The Warriors, 50 Cent: Bulletproof, Crime Life: Gang Wars, Condemned: Criminal Origins and True Crime: New York City.

Well thats strange if Resident Evil was ultra-violent why didn't the BBFC give it an 18 rating.
Resident Evil 4 was only rated a 15 by the BBFC which means that by all intents and purposes it is not ULTRA-VIOLENT.
I wouldn't even class GTA as ultraviolent.....I'm fine with violence but I'm not too keen on it's glorifiance by games such as 50 cent BULLETPROOF.....and his new film.
Also there is no problem with games being ultra-violent the problem is parents who are buying these 'ultra-violent' games for their children and unless the government makes it clear to parents that this is not on...then it will continue to happen......
as for me, im over 18... i can watch porn, i can smoke, i can drink, i can drive, i can watch violent movies, and now i can play violent games...
i have one question to ask people who are saying these games are bad... how many people are killed/hurt every year by the following...
alcohol?
drugs?
cars?
video games?
i rest my case!
i have some of the games in that list, i dont have a copy of 50 cent's game as i have played it at a mates house and i decided not to buy it, not because it was violent, because it was sh*t... yet another GTA:San Andreas wannabee.
