DVD extras
I assume that the extra "Farwell" is on the region 2 DVDs? I was watching this the other night after finishing the 4th season on region 4 DVD at long last! Anyway, I was struck by how emotional this extra was. Clearly it was made long before Peacekeeper Wars had been given the go-ahead and I knew that it had been made since but still I felt I could feel the sadness of all the actors involved in Farscape, that the show had been cancelled. There was a very touching scene as they shown David Kemper, I think, addressing the cast and crew about the cancellation. Poor Claudia Black had tears streaming down her face, God it was so heartbreaking watching this entire extra only lasting about 12 minutes. :tear:
It was also weird seeing Anthony Simcoe (spelling?) and Wayne Pilgrim out of make-up. I think this is the first time I've seen them this way. It also struck me how different they speak normally particularly AS who sounded nothing like D'argo. :o
A different extra I saw was some early make-up tests for Chianna , D'argo and Zhaan. I never really thought about them doing these kind of tests before although obviously they must have the designs finished, refined and ready for filming. They definitely improved Zhaan's look by removing what looks like bones running around her skull (although they won't be bones because she is a plant). They also thought they improved the make-up on her face because on those Tests she looked more human. Which I think it was down to her having red or normal coloured lips? Chianna's Teeth mmmmm she looked puurty! ;)
Has the region two's got a Farscape game with those hounds from Crichton kicks? I had a go at this and couldn't get anywhere even though I tried every direction. I got fed up of it after about 5/10 minutes. Just out of curiosity has anybody finished it?

Yes it's on the region two :tear: very moving - it's definitely a good idea to watch in back to back with the making of the peacekeeper wars.
When I met Wayne he had still has the same enthusiasm and sadness that it is over and I suppose it was watching that documentary that showed me a different side to him :)
It's definitely got the make up tests and bloopers but I don't remember a game :ponder: I'll have to put it on and check, there isn't any mention of it on the cover.
I do love these extras, probably the best of the series :D even if the Farewell doc is a little emotional :tear:
There is an interview with Anthony Simcoe on one of the other DVDs, it might be season 3 as I remember him speaking about getting his own ship :D

I will probably watch the making of Peacekeeper Wars in the next couple of weeks after I have watched Peacekeeper Wars.
Maybe the game was an exclusive Australian extra? I seem to remember there being another game on season three although I'm not completely certain without checking. I don't remember that Anthony Simcoe interview so maybe it's not on my region 4 set :(

I can only really remember trivia games on there and I'm sure they are on the early ones.
So if you didn't get the interview at least you got the games :D
They probably have got slightly different extras :)

I would have preferred the interviews but beggars can't be choosers and at just over £22 a season I can't really complain :)
did any of the region 2 single releases have audio commentaries?
laughitupfuzzball - November 29, 2005 07:07 PM (GMT)
There is a brilliant one with Lani Tupu for Relativity Season 3.
I can't remember now if there are any more, I know I enjoyed that one as Lani calls them the Pina Coladas and giggles his way through it
and No for £22 you can't complain

Some of the region 2 complete season box sets have commentaries, but the two disc releases only had them in season 3, iirc :ponder:

I knew the R2 box-sets have audio commentaries because I have the first two box set seasons on region 2 which have loads on season one and two. :)
I would have dearly loved to complete the collection with region 2 box sets but they're so expensive and it would probably take about a year from now before S4 gets reduced to a more reasonable price level. :(

Ah yes, I forgot you had them :)
All this reminds me I need to get the season 2 Starburst editions. Well, when I say "need" it's not strictly true... :whistling:
