Title: Grading Comics

Hovis - November 25, 2005 12:14 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know where I can easily find out how to grade some comics? I have some American Marvels from the mid seventies that I'm thinking of putting on eBay in the New Year. I've had a quick Google, but nothing leaps out!

Thanks,

Andy :yahoo:

Send them to me, I'll grade them Andrew :shifty:

Nah, the best advice I have found, for the layman is available HERE It's very general stuff, but gives you a basic guide, somewhere to start from.

What kinda books have you got (barely restrained avarice asking this question)

I found some of my old comics, and was tempted to flog them, but they weren't worth very much. The problem with eBay is collectables don't gain as much value, as its quite easy to get hold of them.

I had a Punisher issue #1 and a Wolverine issue #1 (signed by Chris Claremont) and they were only worth a few dollars.

I bought New Mutants 87 for about 30p once, and within a year it was worth £30 (first appearance of Cable). I thought I should hold on to it, as it could be worth a lot in years to come, but a quick search on eBay now reveals its now worth about $3.

Yeah, it's not a good time to be a speculator right now.

Unless you've got your mitts on copies of Serenity, Angel or the recent Spike book :D
