Here it is.
At last.
It's done.
Hope you enjoy it.
"Deprogrammed? Would you mind explaining that statement?" Giles somehow managed to appear in front of Wesley, preventing his approach towards Buffy.
"I would love to Rupert, but later. There are, in case you haven't noticed, more important things going on here. Tara, can you hold her?"
"For as long as you need Wesley."
"You bitch. You will burn in the firey pits of the 12th level of hell for this brazen attack." Buffy spat the words in Tara's direction, but never once took her eyes off Wesley. She struggled against the magical bonds that held her in place, but even her redoubtable slayer strength was no match for the powers operating at Tara's beckoning.
Las Vegas, nevada.
"Ahm on a winnin' streak honey bun." The fat texan shouted at the blackjack dealer as she passed more chips his way. "This day can't get any better."
"Which is just as well, because it's about to get a whole lot worse." The Texan spun on his stool to look at the figure who had spoken. Before him stood a bookish girl, horn rimmed glassed and all. Her hair pulled back so tightly, it must have been painfull. "In the name of all that is holy, this modern day Soddom must fall." Before anyone could react, a machine gun was pulled from under her voluminous jacket. She opened fire, the Texan man fell, the first of many. "This house of sin, and this town, twin to Gammorah, will be cleansed by fire." At this, the timer on the bomb, secreted around her body, reached zero. The casino, the hotel above it and all the patrons therein exploded, swallowed either by the blast, or the devestation that followed. The explosion echoed around the Nevada desert, and it was joined by other explosions as the congregation of the church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints began their war on sin. As usual, Las Vegas lit up the night sky, but this was not the usual neon glow, it was the fire of death, the light of righteous, the flames of death.
The Amazon basin.
"So, it's the Apocalypse. Again?" Oz asked Faith, as he sat by the fire started by Robin.
"Looks like. But this one's different, apparently. I don't really understand it all, but hey, nothing new there." Faith shuffled slightly, getting closer to the flame.
"This one is being started by the good guys" Robin explained, using air quotes to emphasise the last two words. "This would appear to be the Apocalypse as described in the bible. The final war between Heaven and Hell, with us stuck in the middle, getting destroyed."
"So, not good then." Oz added. "So what brings you to the Amazon?"
"Well, we're here looking for weapons to help us fight the bad guys, or technically, the good guys." Faith said simply. "Right?" She turned to Robin for confirmation. He nodded. Smiling, Faith continued, "it seems, that even though they're all powerfull, and all knowing, and stuff, they don't actually know everything. Which is too much of a weird concept for me to even start to get my head around. We're looking for a spear of Melianas. Apparently." Faith looked doubtful again.
"The spear is one of the things that Cordelia can't see, and with her being linked to the Powers that be, we're assuming that means they don't know about it." Robin put in.
"Wait a minute. Cordelia? As in Cordelia Chase? As in ditzy uber bitch, spawn of satan Cordelia?"
"Yeah, she grew, she died, she came back." Faith smiled as she saw the look of bewilderment spread across Oz's face. Then she chuckled, "You were out of the loop even longer than I was."
"Well, I've been, uhm, finding myself." Oz replied, suffering slightly from information overload.
Lourdes.
As twilight came and passed, Angel and Spike left the confines of their hotel room. "I don't like this place. Altogether too many crosses." Spike said under his breath. "I say we find this thing and go, quick."
"That's the general idea Spike. Or weren't you paying attention?"
"I don't like this is all I'm saying. No need to rip me jugular out." Angel's eyes rolled as he wondered if anyone would notice if Spike didn't return from their expedition.
The Vatican.
"Your Holiness. Your Holiness." The purple robes of the bishop billowed out behind him as he dashed into the offices of the Pontiff. "Jerusalem is gone. Destroyed. It's all over the news media."
"Show me," came the gutteral response from the Pope's chair. The Bishop, eager to do the bidding of the Pontiff, switched on the small tv, mounted in the corner of the room.
"Reports are sketchy at best, but it would appear that the City of Jerusalem has been destroyed in an unprovoked nuclear attack. There is no information at present as to who could have commited this attrocity, but we are just about to go live to the White House for a statement from the President."
The image switched, to show the White house press room, the U.S. President was just taking his place at the podium, standing before all of the reporters eagerly waiting his response to the attack.
"Peoples of the world," The President began. "As you know, the holy City of Jerusalem has been destroyed. I have been speaking with the Prime Minister of Great Britain, and he has confirmed that it was his executive decision to take this action." Gasps came from around the room, as reporters, who had been primed to hear that the perpetrators had been terrorists, or rogue nations, heard the truth. "Although, the United States, as a nation, cannot condone the deaths of so many 'misguided' civillians, we can neither condemn this attack." There were more gasps of disbelief and horror from around the room. "Jerusalem, has been cleansed by the fire of Righteousness. The cradle of Christianity, the birth place of Civilisation itself, has been wiped clean of unbelievers. Today is a day to rejoice."
"Switch it off." The voice from the Pope's chair took the Bishop by surprise. "I said switch it off." The Bishop had never before heard the Pontiff shout like that, in terror, he reached up and switched the television off. "Good. Now, come close. What I say next, shall only remain between us, for now." The Bishop approached the chair, eager to hear the Pontiff's reaction before anyone else alive. As he drew closer, he smelled something unusual in the air. "What I have to say is. I'm hungry." The Bishop was confused, until a hand flew from the Pontiffs robes, swathed in white silk, the hand grabbed the Bishop, and despite his struggles, it drew him in close to the mouth, and waiting teeth of Dracula.
The Sunnydale Crater.
"I can't believe Vince sent me out here. The world is ripping itself to shreds, and I'm here doing a filler piece on 'the town that vanished' I mean, woohoo." Karen Rhodes' disgust at her editor was evident, despite the fact that she had been having an affair with him for three years. In that relatively short time, she had gone from research assistant to field reporter, in a rise to glory that was nothing short of miraculous. "OK, I'm ready."
As the cameraman signalled that the camera was rolling, Karen's fake smile filled her face. "On this, the 1st Anniversary of the disappearance of the town of Sunnydale, California. We're here tonight to report on what is left here."
"The town vanished in what Seismologists declared at the time was the most localised, and destructive Earthquake ever. Though still there are reports of survivors who say that the town was swallowed up by Hell itself." Karen lauged as she turned to look into the crater, "You could almost believe it. It looks li.... Huh, what the heck is that, there's a fire down there." Karen tried to focus her eyes on the small crack, and orange glow that emanated from it, before her eyes the crack widened, and flame poured out of the hole. Following the flames came the creatures. Giant monsters, Dragons, hideous figures dressed in skins, and robes. "Run, Ted." Karen shouted as she herself tried to flee. Her Cameraman followed suit, heading for the news van that stood just a few metres behind him.
Karen found her legs were no longer touching the ground, something above her had snatched her away from the Earth, "Yummy treats." The Giant said, in an almost childish voice, as it swallowed Karen whole, she screamed, all the way down to the creature's stomach. In the meantime, Ted, had managed to reach the van unscathed, he started the vehicle and sped off down the road. He was so busy checking the rear view mirror to see what the creatures were doing, he failed to notice one of the Dragons land in the road before him. The van struck the giant creature and it roared in pain as it's giant leg took the brunt of the impact. Ted began to scream, just as the Dragon retalliated, letting loose a giant stream of flame, roasting the van, and Ted, without a thought.
Hell has risen. And the world will tremble.
To be continued.
:o OMG :o When you say War you mean War!

Did you purposely choose the name Karen for the one who got eaten <_<
Great stuff Jamie  Still don't know much about the deprogramming stuff though :(
More please :D
Oh, and I like the name of the spear ;)
The spear was named to make up for Karen being eaten :ph43r:
I thought to myself, "what kind of monster haven't we seen in Buffy?" I decided on a Giant, so she was eaten by an all new creature, you should be proud
