STOKE ME A CLIPPER...

lister to rimmer...

"rimmer dont take this the wrong way, how you be the next ace? i mean your a gutless, spineless, gormless, directionless, nurotic, underachieving, sniveling, cowardly, pile of smeg... no offence.... but get real man, most eunochs have got more balls than you"

Still going through the cast commentaries at the moment. This isn't one of my favourite seasons, too many changes to take in, but i haven't seen it for a very long time, maybe it will grow on me. Still on the hunt for the hidden easter eggs, haven't found any so far! I liked the fact Chris Barrie sits in on the commentaries even though he isn't in certain episodes.

Danny's laugh just cracks me up! The Dwarf commentaries are fun though, i have listened to them many times. Anyway, i shall post more as i get through more of it, still got that hideous episode where we go on the Rimmer tour, hopefully the cast might talk over most of that!

I love Red Dwarf IV to VI but the series became a bloated parody of itself after that which was a real shame. sk

I haven't got round to watching the lost episode. Or found any easter eggs, they must have hid them well with this one!

The commentaries as always are good but it hasn't made me like this series any better. I don't like the overuse of the "it's about as annoying as" or other variants that they use in this season (I am lame at English, there is probably a special word for this kind of comparative talk).

I do think it was a lot to ask the fans to suddenly get used to Rimmer being replaced by Kochanski, but they do this with all shows and eventually you get used to them, maybe because Red Dwarf only had short season runs we didn't have enough time to like the character. I like the episode Tikka To Ride; firstly it was a good “we’re back” episode what with Kryten finally getting to stir coffee with his groinal attachment! The whole JFK story was great; it was shot really well. The rest of the episodes I wasn’t that interested in, I think it really showed in this season that one writer was missing, even though there were some good lines and moments.

I kind of like the way Red Dwarf used models instead of resorting to CGI, I think it makes for a better overall effect, the episode where we get to see all the rimmer’s that had made up the rings round a planet was very cartoon-like.
