Stardate: Unknown Sisko is challenged by Captain Solok, an old Vulcan rival from Starfleet Academy, to a game of baseball in the holosuite, and is given only two weeks to turn his senior staff into a team.

When I first saw this episode, I remember loving it, however in retrospect it's more half a fantastic romp, and the other half is pure cringeworthy.

What gets me most is some of the hideous dialogue (Bashir's 'Now that is a Fancy Dan!' for one had me looking for sharp objects), not to mention the fact this episode is just an excuse for the cast and crew to indulge their baseball fantasies, much like the hideous love for Lounge music... At least we knew Sisko was a baseball fan from the start, where as Bashir's Rat Pakc fan club membership came out of nowhere...

Still, it's always saved by Worfs little gems, such as the rallying cry 'Death to the Opposition!', and telling Nog to 'Find him and kill him!'

And I liked the end - and we now know Quark signs his name with little Ferengi ears....

For some reason I enjoyed this one more than I thought I was going to

Very silly ep but I can't think of anything I didn't like. The dialogue was fine for me - not very serious and the actors all looked like they were having fun, which helps these 'comedy' eps immeasurably :)

Loved Worf barking 'Find him and kill him'

Er, hello - there's a war going on. So the entire command crew takes two weeks out to learn and practice baseball. Sounds about right

Still, enjoyed this one. Made me smile a lot.

Am I the only one who wants to shoot Penny Johnson every time she appears, though?

Pretty much with you on this one Steve. On paper, this probably really shouldn't work, but in terms of providing light relief amidst the grim/grueling Dominion war, it does pretty well.

Penny Johnson, I'd gladly shoout out an airlock, fortunately she's more than offset by Chase Masterson!

One slight jarring factor though, the Vulcan is obviously too overtly emotional in his relationship with Sisko. He quite clearly enjoys rubbing Sisko's nose in it, that surely can't be purely logical!
