Stardate: Unknown Worf attempts to win a battle by destroying a Dominion shipyard to guarantee Jadzia's spirit a place in Sto-vo-kor, the Klingon afterlife. Ezri wishes to join Ben, Joseph and Jake Sisko on their hunt for the Bajoran Orb of the Emissary. After discovering the Orb, and opening the case, the Wormhole is re-opened and the Orbs are reactivated. Sisko learns that a Prophet, to ensure his birth and guarantee his destiny, possessed his mother. Kira must find a way of preventing the Romulans from building weapons on the Bajoran moon where they claim they are building a hospital.

On the whole I think it was a mistake to make Image in the Sand and Shadows and Symbols a 2-part story (with a forced cliffhanger with the discovery of Ezri) - as a result there's a lot of plodding around and setting up in part one, and all the action forced into part 2. Perhaps this should have been a 90-minute movie (like the Way of the Warrior), thus allowing the story to be spread out a bit more.

Still, it's a very good oe, with revelations a plenty (Sisko's a child of the Prophets! Dax is back in a new body! Kira got a haircut!) and one gets the feeling things are being set in motion for the end of the series.

It's nice too to see the return of Benny Russell, although we are still left trying to understand whether Benny is an illusion, or if Deep Space Nine (and by default the Trek universe) are indeed all in the mind of a 1950's pulp sci-fi author.....

Great little ep this one.

I never thought I'd say it before I'd seen S7 but I actually prefer Ezri to jadzia. Nicole De Boer just seems to bring a bit extra to the role and really plays off of Avery Brooks well.

Loads going on, and a nice drawing together of the various threads with a fairly obvious (but good) demonstration that the return of the Prophets marks a new turning point not just in Bajors fortunes but the alliance in general :)

No complaints here ;)

Mmmm, Nicole de Boer

I don't particularly care what the rest of the series is like so long as I get to watch her

Always said they underused her in The Dead Zone <_<

Apart from that, quite enjoyable, nice couple of revelations. Still find it quite amusing that Sisko's able to bugger off in the middle of a war and nobody knows if he's coming back. Surely that's going AWOL and a prosecutable offense? :ponder:

Could have done without the Worf sub-plot, which felt tacked on to give everyone else something to do
