Stardate: Unknown Sisko is ordered to launch attacks against Cardassia and the Dominion. In his absence, Dax is left in command if the station. Gul Dukat is possessed by a Pah-wraith in an attempt to destroy the Bajoran Wormhole and the Prophets. Dukat manages to destroy one of the Bajoran Orbs, and kills Jadzia in the process, although the Dax symbiont is saved. The Bajoran Wormhole implodes, the Orbs go dark, and Sisko is forced to take time out while the war continues.

But other than that everything goes quite well

Oddly, I found Jadzia's death a little bland for my liking - all it seemed to do was give a personal motive for Sisko or Worf to kill Dukat some stage in the future...

It's nice to see the whole Sisko as the Emissary deal get properly reawakened - with Starlfeet giving him an ultimatum to choose whose side he's on, and it seems this time he might have chosen the wrong one (it's a lovely shot when the wormhole collapses though :)

And what a fantastic ending - parallelling the end of 'Call to Arms' perfectly with Kira's comment of 'he took his baseball - I don't think he's planning on coming back'.....

That and the sad, sad scene at the very end showing that the great captain and emissary Benjamin Lafayet Sisko... is sitting out the back of his pop's restaurant, scrubbing potatoes. :(

I agree that Jadzia's death was a little brief and bland... though it was nice to see that it got Worf doing his death-growl. :) Shame he couldn't have stormed onto the Promenade and let it out, where it coule be heard from one end to the other... :D

This episode should have some sort of warning given that I always end up all maudlin after watching it

Dax's death was pretty bland but I think that was sort of the point - a heroic death wouldn't really have had quite the same effect on Sisko as the pointless sort of his fault one.

Sadly enough I picked up on the change to the background music when Sisko was at the restaurant - distinctly Far Beyond The Stars like.

Ho hum.

Nice build up but the ending and Jadzia's death all seemed a bit rushed. Trying not to read the rest of the thread as I think I've already picked up one spoiler from the start of it, but Sisko taking "personal" time in the middle of a war screamed of plot device and little else, to me anyway :ermm:

Just re-read the reviews of the last few episodes and most of them are only 1 line long

You'll love S7 Steve, honest

Did you want me to check 'em for spoilers and post a few up

If you've got time, Dave, but it's no biggie :)
