Prob been done before, but I am in a total music frame of mind! Which bands are top of your tree? Also, we are in the midst of compiling a "greatest hits" in my local, by handing out flyers and getting them to writetheir top ten trax of all time - easier said than done!!!! Could you do it?

Really hard but will give it a bash. Top 10, 1 per band, in no particular order...

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard
Paradise City - G 'n' R
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
The Band - The Weight
Massive Attack - Protection
Buffalo Springfield - For what its worth
Counting Crowes - Omaha
Rolling Stones - Can't Always get what you Want
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA

hmm, not sure if thats my fave of all time, but it sure would make a good cd to drive too!

They are great, can listen to August and Everything After over and over. Perfect Blue Buildings is a beautiful song as well.

So does my list tie in with the consensus of the pub at all?

I'm not sure, as forms are coming in all the time right now! We've had the likes of Dylan and AC/DC  right thru to Phill Collins, Against All Odds as someones fave song ever :fear: so I guess its going to be really varied - tho Bob Seagar seems to be cropping up a fair bit!!! :)

As I said, I was trying to keep it to one track per band so it was often close between several tracks by one artist.......the other RUSH ones I was considering were 'Natural science' and 'Jacobs ladder'......

Must admit I forgot about Rainbow completely....'Stargazer' would possoibly have made my list too..... :headbang:

Maiden...I was torn between 'Two minutes to midnight' and 'Powerslave'.......with a possible 'Phantom of the Opera' in there too.....

Genesis, Tull, and Evanescence....I could have done a top 10 from each of these groups......
