Stardate: 51474.2 Dax, O'Brien and Bashir take the runabout U.S.S. Rubicon to explore a nebula, when they shrink to a size where the runabout is four inches long. The Defiant is taken over by the Jem'Hadar, and it up to the tiny crew of the Rubicon to get it back.

Another one of those aforementioned quirky, fun episodes

Highlights the strength of the characters and their dynamics with O'Brien and Bashir(as usual) playing well off each other. Some great lines and silly humour and a nice off the wall storyline :)

Can't think of a single thing I disliked.

This episode seems to get a lot of slagging off in various circles (the main argument is that it feels like an episode of Voyager), but I really can't see it - it's just another one of those fun episodes!

What does help is that the crew reaction to the whole ludicrousness of the plan (especially Kira, who ends up in fits of laughter) feels right, and I love O'Briens comment of 'You mean I'll be this bloody small for the rest of my life?' (only for Bashir to correct his to 'this bloody small') works well.

The Jem'Hadar invading storyline seems a bit tedious, although it's interesting to note the conflict between the Alpha and Gamma Jem'Hadar - it's a shame this wasn't bought up in later episodes...

This was an ep I'd never seen before, and I found it most enjoyable. :D Only problem I really have is "how easily" the Defiant got captured. Seems a tad on the inconsistent side, with number of other times they punch their way through entire fleets with merely a few exploded consoles, yet one quick attack and POOMF! They're captured. Doesn't feel right to me...

Though I agree - it did make a good story with the Alpha and Gamma Jem'Hadar trying to one-up eachother.

Totally daft but very enjoyable. The conflict between the Alpha and Gamma Jem'Hadar was interesting to begin with but it became a bit tedious after a while - they could have done more with it, I think.

I thought the effects were very good. Where the shots of the Rubicon zipping about could have been a bit hokey there wasn't one moment where it pulled me out of my suspension of disbelief.

Had to laugh at how they explained away how Dax and co got back to their normal size with a throwaway "go back into the anomaly" and a one line Captain's Log - but in stories like these I don't think it matters as the overall emphasis is on fun.

The final scene made me laugh

Totally daft but very enjoyable.

Sums up my feelings around this one. A good watch, but ultimately, instantly forgettable.
