I stopped wathing regularly half way through S7 - I have though seen the finale of that season but none of S8......I watched the S9 premier tonight so:


1. Where has O'Neill gone ie what role/job etc?

2. Is he going to appear much in S9?

3. Teal'c mention the Jaffar being free - are all the Goa'uld's dead/extinguished and if so how?

4. Who is Claudia Black's character and is she going to be a regular?

5. Where's Hammond?

Any other gossip etc appreciated - sorry I can't be arsed to read through the various threads etc.

I've just watched the first ep as well, and thought they would clarify these things a bit more. I happened to have read some stuff, but i don't think it's spoilery

1. O'Neill is now head of homeworld security, he was a General last season

2. He is in 2 eps so far this one and ep 3. I don't know of anymore

3. Last Season, Oma sort of killed Anubis who was the big bad goa'uld and the replicators killed a lot of the other goa'uld e.g. replicator Carter killed Yu. So a lot of Jaffa have joined Teal'c's cause as such.

4. Claudia Black's character is Vala, she was in the ep Prometheus Unbound last season, dressed as a supersoldier and then attacked and tried to sleep with Daniel, that's how they know each other.

5. I don't know, cos i think Jack has his Homeworld Security thing, maybe he retired.

If you haven't seen S8, i'd recommend you read up on the eps New Order 1&2, Prometheus Unbound, Reckoning 1& 2 and Threads.

Don't worry about not knowing this stuff, my dad was also watching and hadn't really got a clue what was going on, i think there should have been a previously or an explanation, maybe we'll get one soon, i'm sure those who have downloaded eps may be able to help you more.

I knew O'Neill got promoted and I knew the actor was cutting back his role I just wanted to know by how much?

It looked to me like Anubis was killed in the S7 finale - obviously another sly escape?

I think I started to watch the one where Claudia Black first appeared but didn't see much of it for some reason - do you know if she becomes a regular?

She's in it until AT (Sam) comes back in ep 6 after that i'm not sure, i've heard rumours that she's going to appear in a later ep, but as i said i'm not sure.

As for Anubis, he was part ascended so couldn't be killed technically, so was still alive. I think he got a new body, but in the ep Threads (really gd i recommend u see it) Oma Desala (sp?) fights him and says "there's nothing you can do except fight me back" and then they both disappear in a bright flash of light. So i think we can say Anubis is gone, for now.

Hope that helps, it's a basic summary of what happened. Reckoning 1&2 and Threads were fantastic and are imo essential viewing, some say 3 of the best eps ever, i'm inclined to agree, although Window of Opportunity is still my fave ep, nothing can change that.

She's back towards the end of the season. Penultimate episode IIRC.

The Anubis story is furthered in Season 9. Kind of.

Reckoning was fantastic. I wasn't blown away by Threads though I must admit. It was good, but not from memory, brilliant.

Season 9 Neil, the best season so far since SG1's glory days.
