Well as hard as the question is (morningdale?) i can't be bothered signing up to enter competitions.

I noticed in the Newsagent today that there is a competition to win the first two series of Buffy in the Fortean Times. The question is hard though- What episode of Buffy mentions a certain Jack the Ripper suspect, I can't remember what one.
prophecy girl - October 5, 2005 08:42 AM (GMT)
you sure it's not a book or an angel episode?
or is it ripper as giles nickname?
:ponder:
thinking about it, flashback in fool for love ... iirc ... someone asked william about it but he was too busy thinking about poems and cecily ..... :ponder:

I can't think of an ep of Buffy that mentions a Jack the Ripper suspect. I'll check an FFL script..........
It just talks about disappearances, nothing about a suspect. But i have no other ideas, so its likely that's the ep they're after.
As for Sky One comps, they're usually a waste of time, with really obvious answers, so anyone can enter, and then us fans who actually know a little bit more about the show have no chance of winning.
Ems :)

Hi Sarah why do you bad memories of blood and fog? Is the not worth reading? I was just about to buy it :ponder:
I can't remember if Jack the Ripper was mentioned and if Claire doesn't know then the rest of us have no chance  I think I should with win Sky Competition cos I can't afford to buy the Angel dvds right now.
laughitupfuzzball - October 5, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I quite liked Blood and Fog but then I always like the flashbacks of Spike and Dru. :)
prophecy girl - October 6, 2005 08:28 AM (GMT)
blood and fogs was trying to be in the season six spirit (spuffy, willow addiction,...) and it didn't really seem right, the flashback was the best part, i think.

I had another look today, and the suspect in question was Dr William Gull. If you know the answer and want the first two series of Buffy then it might be worth your while getting the current Fortean Times because I think you'd be in with a fair chance of winning.

trivia moment

In "Lies My Parents Told Me" Spike makes mention of his mother's personal physician - a Dr. Gull. This is Dr. William Gull, Physician-in-extraordinary to the royal family, and who some believe was Jack The Ripper. (see From Hell (2001))

I think we all need to sit down for a bit, think about things and acknowledge the master.    Truely, we are not worthy.
Well done PG, I've said it before, I have no doubt that I will have cause to say it again, but you really are our leader :)
prophecy girl - October 9, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)

It messed up a lot of season 6 continuity (and I love season 6) and therefore was so confusing and mediocre it felt like I was reading a Point Horror book. The London Slayer stuff was interesting, but was underused IMO. :)
