Damn! I already own the book. Maybe I could send Carla :ponder:

The times I've been to TP signings, I haven't necessarily bought the book in the store he's signing at. You can just take one along to sign (or in some people's case, their whole collection ) and stand in line. :)

I'm just ressurecting this thread to let everyone (who doesn't already own the new book) that WH Smith have an offer on right now where all of their top 10 hardback books are half price :o Including "Thud", so I may be convinced to buy it today. (Oh who am I kidding, of course I'm going to buy it today  ) It'll be my first hardback purchase since Uni :o

Enjoy, Jamie! My local Asda has the Pratchett hardbacks for under a tenner when they come out, so I get them there. I'm about halfway through 'Thud' now and I'm thinking so far, that it's one of his best.

Shame the signings in the original post were so far away. I saw TP give a talk about 10 years back, and he came across as a lovely bloke, and it would have been great to see him again!

Thud! is fantastic  I caved and bought it the day it came out :ph43r:

I'm also tempted by it's companion book 'Where's my cow?'

(you'll understand when you've read Thud! :lmao: )

I used to sneak into Waterstones and read 'Where's my cow' a bit at a time. It's so short that I could have read it all at once if it hadn't been right next to the counter in a small shop! I thought that it was worth a read, but not worth the £10 or so price tag.

Just finished 'Thud', so I think I know 'Where's My Cow?' off by heart now! Seen it in the shops, and it's overpriced, but fun. (Tempting....)

Hruuugh!
