A new thread for us to chat/analyse/obsess about the current season :)

I think it sucks donkey balls :01:

Just watched 2x02 - it moves at such a slow pace :frusty:

When Sawyer was in the water swimming to that broken half of the raft, and the camera goes underwater for a shot of that shark which swims across our screens, did anyone else notice it had a logo printed on it's stomach, the same one that was branded on all of that food and stuff inside the food cellar in the bunker :shifty:

Crichton Kicks - September 29, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
2x02 was pretty good.

Interesting situation regarding Desmond. You'd assumed he was the one in quarantine, when in fact it looks more likely that he was in iscolation to protect himself away from the rest of the island.

Given his question as to whether anyone in the party has gotten sick yet, and given that the French Woman's crew all got sick it's not looking too good.

Chances are that the mob at the end of the episode were the survivors from the tail section. If so they appear not to be doing as well as the rest. Perhaps they're sick.

Regarding the bits with the raft survivors and the shark, given the flimsy fragment of raft they were left with surely a shark would just have destroyed it  Equally, it didn't take long to turn up once the raft was destroyed. That being the case why didn't it go after Jin who clearly must have been swimming towards land at the time

Cardelia - October 6, 2005 10:12 PM (GMT)
Can I just say that we don't need to see the same fucking scene three times in three weeks! Get on with the story already. They also appeared to have messed with the timing of the scene to enable Kate to crawl through ducts, load a gun and knock out the Irish guy in the time it takes him to say 3 lines.

Re: sharks - they can sniff blood from miles away; given that Jin didn't appear to be bleeding, the sharks would logically go after Sawyer.

I liked this weeks ep, plenty of Mr Quinn :)

Psycho Jack - October 6, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)
Ummm… what the what now? Press a button and you save the world? Sorry? :ponder:

Someone should talk to Shannon… Walter did clearly tell her “Don’t push the button. The button is bad!”

Allright it was backwards but that really is no excuse! :D

Ah well, a good episode nonetheless. I was more interested in seeing what Mike, Sawyer and Jin got up to, but I guess I'll just have to wait!

Great seeing Michelle Rodriquez again too.

Not very happy with this weeks ep, far too much Hurely who seems to be the most stupidest pointless character in existence :ermm:

So what was that bunker thing that Sawyer & Co walked into at the end, another Dharma Corp place?

(Michelle Rodriquez's jungle Lara Croft routine doesn't seem to be w**king for her as she comes across as slightly retarded imo :ermm: )

kicking it old school - October 15, 2005 04:07 PM (GMT)
I thought this was the best ep of season 2 so far, most interesting at least. The others were a lot slower, imo... stuff actually happened in this one! Very intrigued as to what's going on with Sawyer, Michael, Jin and the other people from the plane, I wish that story was given more screen time... the stuff with the button isn't overly interesting..

And what's happened to Desmond? I know he just ran away off into the jungle, but where exactly did he go? It's not the kind of place where you'd want to be alone.. I don't really get why he didn't stay with Jack & people.

The 9mm film said they established 5 research bunkers. So I'm presuming Sawyer & Co are in another.

I'm guessing that Jack & Co are in the Psychology bunker, every 108 minutes, I mean how stupid do you have to be, not to realise it's an experiment?

This episode was redeemed by Rose's husband - one of the most touching moments - the missus was in floods of tears :D

Nonetheless for me, the shine appears to be coming off a fairly hitherto perfect series. It's mainly because of the number of poor decisions that Locke has made, that everyone has allowed him to get away with. It's undermining Jack's leadership and Kate's common sense as a result, which for me is starting to chip away at the integrity of their characters. I just get the feeling that even someone like D Monaghan's character would just have said ''f*ck this, I'm not pushing that'', which would have cut through the faith crap that Locke was spouting.

What's wrong with Hurley?

Psycho Jack - October 17, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
"Have a cluckty-cluck day!"

Hmmm.... bit of a strange one this.... They seem to run out of script ideas towards the end so they opted for a really really long musical interlude. <_<

I like the fact that we were introduced to Rose’s husband.

I'm not entirely sure that introducing three new regulars to the show was the best of ideas. As it was Lost had plenty of well-developed characters and I would’ve loved to see them grow more. The problems is that the three new ones (and Rose’s husband in fact) all look quite interesting too. I fear that we might get a cast clearance and lose some of the ‘older’ ones to compensate for this.

Alas, I’ll trust them for now…

Darris - October 19, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
I don't mind Hurley and it was fun to see that guy who was playing Hurleys friend, i last saw him in The New Guy with Eliza Dushu. What i don't understand is, if you happened to buy a ticket for the lottery and then went on to win, how on earth would the press know where the winning ticket was purchased and who bought it? Or have i missed something? Even if that wasn't the case i am sure Hurley hadn't handed over his ticket by that time and so it wasn't announced that he was the winner?

Rose's husband! It was a nice touch i thought. I have to admit i shed a small tear, good job no one was in the room to take the mikey out of me! haha I am such a wuss when it comes to things like that.

Nick - October 19, 2005 07:28 AM (GMT)
with most lotteries, they know exactly where the ticket was bought and when as well. That information is released with permission in Europe, because of data protection laws etc. In the US, these laws aren't so stringent so the information held about the ticket as opposed to the owner can be released. :)

Psycho Jack - October 21, 2005 09:19 AM (GMT)
*sigh*

Wish I hadn't watched the preview for the next episode... :ermm:

Ah well. Okay-ish episode, I like Echo.

Spoiler Speculation - no actual spoilers please:

The preview seemed to suggest that it was Sawyer who is going to bite the bullet, but I don't buy it. I get the feeling it might be someone else. It's a classic case of mis-direction imo.... three weeks suddenly seems like a long long time away.

LoobiLou - October 21, 2005 09:21 AM (GMT)
I haven't seen this weeks episode yet but they can't kill off Sawyer! They should get rid of Michelle Rodriguez's character, cannot stand her one bit <_<

A bit more about what we saw in the preview... again no spoilers but read at your own peril Loobi :)

In one of the really quick shots that we saw, Shannon seemed to be crying beside a make-shift grave. I'll need a second viewing before I can be sure, but that does suggest that its not in fact Sawyer. Could be Sun... she and Jin did get back together, well, kind of, and as we all know in TV land people can't be happy all the time! Actually, having said that, where did Boone get buried? It could've been a shot from episodes gone by... just can't be sure with Lost...

Re Rodriguez, I quite like her. :whistling:

Nick - October 21, 2005 11:54 AM (GMT)
Probably Boone, don't you think? Moe

I'm really not sure Nick... :ermm:

I'll watch again tonight.

Darris - October 24, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
3 weeks! Dear me, it's a good job i've still got Hex and Desperate Housewives and Sliders (just started watching it again!) to keep me going till it comes back on!

Way to go Jin for lamping that big bloke. I knew Sawyer wouldn't go after Michael, although understandable conisdering he has a hole in his arm. Ooh we got to see feet and a bear this week! It's all hotting up! I wonder who the bear belonged to?

melian - October 31, 2005 09:39 AM (GMT)
Just recieved the first 5 episodes and watched them all yesterday :ph43r:

Loving this new series, but I wish I hadn't watched the preview for the next one :tear:

I just wish they had been brave enough not to press the button

Psycho Jack - November 13, 2005 05:34 PM (GMT)
2.06 - Abandoned

Well, that was one of the most hugely disappointing episodes of Lost. I don't think the end even compensated for it.

Accidentally read the blurb for the next episode, sounds much better.

Darris - November 16, 2005 01:36 AM (GMT)
Oh, i thought the next one wasn't airing till tomorrow. Has it been 3 weeks already?

Psycho Jack - November 16, 2005 09:57 AM (GMT)
Sure has! :)

Another new one tonight in fact.

Darris - November 17, 2005 07:32 PM (GMT)
I wasn't paying attention about the Charlie thing, has he found the drugs on the plane?

Poor Shannon! That ending was not what i expected at all. Was that really Walt she saw i wonder? That would beg the question to whether he could astral project? Or would that just be too cheesy?

Krazy - November 23, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
I watched Abandoned two weeks ago and woah what a ending. :o :tear:
Boone in a flashback was good
Shannon and Sayid :naughty:
Grr at Ana-Lucia
God i hope Walt is found soon.

Yup. He is carrying a statue full of drugs around with him. :)

I liked 2x08 cos it woz gud :)

Darris - November 25, 2005 10:51 PM (GMT)
Is it just me who doesn't feel sorry for Ana Lucia?

Damn you Lost for playing the teary ending! :D

Cardelia - November 26, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
Well, I for one was cheering when she shot Shannon  Though, bizarrely, most people in t'internetland seem to have forgotton just how bloody annoying Shannon was in the first season and were really upset that she died. Strange

Most definitely my favourite Lost moment ever :) People have probably forgotten what an annoying ho she is cos they made her ok in that flashback episode... before killing her off.

Nope, she irritates me a lot and the pregnancy thing was way too obvious..

Aww @ Rose & her hubby being reunited ^_^ ^_^

Craig G - December 1, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
I thought that it was sad, but after seeing episode 08 i feel less like hating ana lucia, just a little less.

Though what i thought was cool was the idea that the others were taking the people that werent bad (i cant remember rge exact quote), hence why they were taking kids? Also, is it me or does it seem that when the characters secret or past is overcome then they are killed off from the island? All this would seem to support the limbo theory, though i dont like that idea.

though season 2 is soo good, the episodes just keep getting better.

Darris - December 2, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
Well what do we think about what Kate did? And why is there a horse on the island?

This was a pretty good episode, especially with the black guy givingg Locke the other part of the movie.

I couldn't believe Michael started communicating on the computer, although he didn't see the unedited version of the film, and i didn't even expect it to be Walt on the other end! Or thats who we assume it to be anyway.
