The team finds a large Ancient Ship called Aurora offworld and it still has Ancients living on board.

This one follows from Trinity in scope. Atlantis, IMO, is at it's best when it's exploring the Ancients, and this one again is a cracker. Again the Atlantis gang appears to be on the cusp of a startling breakthrough that could turn the tide of fortunes against the Wraith, only to have it whisked away. You gotta figure that if they keep coming this close to getting something eventually they will and then it's bad news for the Wraith. The VR story was fairly predictable, with them not remembering putting themselves into that state, and the identity of the Wraith operative was equally predictable, but perhaps predictable enough to throw people off. I thought that was a red herring and the operative was going to turn out being someone else. It was a little bit too obvious, which perhaps makes the eventual revelation surprising.

The Daedelus again comes in handy, and it's still great to see Mitch Pileggi getting in on the action this season.

Along with Trinity, I'd say Aurora is one of my favourites from this half of the season, a season that certainly seems to be building on it's first year.

 I agree, brilliant episode  so sad that the data was wiped out :ermm: I suppose at least they have learnt that there is a weakness.

I thought she was a red herring too so maybe that was the plan. Caldwell really doesn't give a damn about them though does he :o One of these days it's going to end in tears.

I would have thought that as soon as they found the Wraith they would have killed it though, I did chuckle a few times though especially when he breaks it out of stasis and then realises that it will wake up

A good enough episode, although I think Atlantis has lost a little of its edge recently. This one was very derivative of the matrix. This ep seemed a little too self contained. It would have been nice if the Aurora could have survived, or if the ancients could have given them a hint about what the weakness was. Its not every day that they get to speak to a living ancient.

McKay was brilliant as per usual, and Shepard seems to be improving. Even some good scenes between Ronen and Teyla.

I'm pleased we have at last seen some benefit from the city having a ZPM. I wish they would spend more time on atlantis sometimes. All the secrets of the universe are there somewhere. You'd think that would be enough incentive.

True, but the knowledge that there is a weakness at all is a step in the right direction for them. Until now they've largely been w**king on supposition.

Personally I think this season's improved upon the last. There seems to be far fewer weaker stories. Last year was very patchy, the overall consistency of season 2 has been a lot more even.

Lord yes, this season is far better, the last one failed to hold my attention but I'm looking forward to this every week

I think they have had time to think through a story arc this time and it's paying off :)

I too wish they could have found some way to either bring one of the ancients out of stasis or save the whole ship (maybe just the collective minds of the crew? :ponder: ), but their sacrifice did lead to a beautiful (if a little cheesy) sad/happy end to the episode

Made me giggle when Ronon drained his glass and the others just sipped theirs

Really enjoyed this one

I knew I was going to like it from the moment they "beamed" onto the Aurora and there was a brief moment when the score sounded exactly like Jerry Goldsmith's Alien theme. Then I remembered who Atlantis's composer is

I'm with Rodney. That first officer was hot. Before she turned into a Wraith, of course  Edit: Just realised where I've seen her before - she was Raya in Smallville :)

Good to see Mitch Pileggi in another role where nobody's sure whether to trust him or not

Loved the opening scene with Weir and Ronon, and the way Teyla convinced McKay to let Shepard go into the "system" - especially with the look on Ronon's face in the background

Some of the direction, especially in the way some shots were framed, was almost cinematic quality in this one. The show continues to look fantastic. :)
