Title: Ghost Rider.

Here I am again, in my (almost) weekly attempt to open your eyes to the realm of comic books. This week, I offer up the rebirth of one of Marvel's freakiest characters ever.

In an attempt to bring the character to more prominence before the movie comes out next year, Marvel have brought out the first issue of a new limited series featuring the flame haired, skull faced, Hells Angel.

The first issue is fantastic. The writing is wonderful, verging on the sublime even. But we could expect no less from the great Garth Ennis (creator of Preacher and reinvigorator of the Punisher) The art is the main draw on the book though, Clayton Crain, a relative newbie to the field, manages to portray Hell so vividly, you'd think you were there before your time :lmao:

This issue manages to meld the introduction to the story (Some angels accidentally let a really nasty demon loose and are looking for someone to find and destroy it for them) and recap Ghost Rider's rather tragic origin, in one tight little package. So even if you've never read an issue of Ghost Rider before (or even if you've never heard of the character before) this would make a great jumping on point for you.

I must warn you though, this book may not be suitable for younger members of the board (sorry Ant) as Ennis is well known for letting rip with the blood, gore and naughty words :o :o Yes. Really. In a comic book :o :o :o :lmao:

Give it a go, you never know.
