Title: Has Buffy Ever Killed A Human?
buffy_fan1 - September 8, 2005 08:18 PM (GMT)
Has Buffy ever killed a human? She never forgave Faith for taking a human life but in "Two To Go" Buffy says Doesn't matter - Willow just killed somebody. Killing changes you. Believe me: I know.Which sounds to me like she was admitting she had so who did Buffy kill? The only thing I can think of she was talking about some of the The Knights of Byzantium but I wasn't sure if they were human? :ponder:
laughitupfuzzball - September 8, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
I don't remember her killing a human maybe she was referring to killing souled Angel, that had a huge impact on her personality
John Brawn - September 8, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
Were some of the mercenaries in Homecoming human? She kinda killed them though indirectly. sk

 hee hee I watched that the other night, they always seem so impossibly stupid
Fangy and grrr - September 8, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
Well she did kill herself so to speak in The Gift. :ponder:
When she says ' Killing changes you. Believe me: I know. ' I took it she was talking about killing in general, Buffy has killed or taken the lifes of lots of different creatures, lifeforms and it must of affected her.
Bill The Bloodless - September 8, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
She shut Billy Fordham in with Spike knowing what the outcome would be and she killed one of the order of Taraka at the ice rink (I think he was human) though neither seemed to bother her much.
She might be referring to Ted, she thought he was human when she 'killed' him.
Maria - September 8, 2005 09:03 PM (GMT)
She could have meant the repurcussions of Faith?
prophecy girl - September 9, 2005 08:30 AM (GMT)
angel tried to explain to buffy that since faith killed someone, she might got the taste for it (or something like that) in revelations
then buffy had to deal with killing ted (well until she learn he was a robot)
plus every human bad guys that she killed ... in self defence
Laura - September 9, 2005 10:38 AM (GMT)
She killed some of the Knights of Byzantium in Spiral, they were human as far as we know.
I think she also still blames herself for Jenny's death in Passion because of her inability to kill Angel in Innocence.
prophecy girl - September 9, 2005 10:51 AM (GMT)
buffy might also feel guilty about stabbing faith

Mmm, I thought of Ted first too.
Somehow it seems to be innocent humans which matter- various aligned-with-forces-of-evil types would probably come into categories of self defence or saving the world.
I think it's interesting that Giles never fesses up to murdering Ben, and that no one actually asks what happened to Glory after all. Sloppy or what?
Bill The Bloodless - September 11, 2005 11:32 AM (GMT)
Here's a thought. Assuming that Ben was buried and not cremated, if he were to become a zombiw would Glory still be there? And when she took over the body would she be a zombie or herself? :ponder:

Good job he wasnt turned into a Vampire then......if Glory resurfaced after he came back...........a mad Vampire God...... :fear:
prophecy girl - September 11, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
if they were any minions left, they would have taken the body and worship it ...... or not :ponder:

The thing about Billy Fordham is he was dead whatever happened :ponder:

Billy wasn't dead when Buffy left him. He walks up to Spike when Buffy locks them in the club.
jamiearmour - September 12, 2005 10:40 AM (GMT)
She may not have killed anyone directly, but by recruiting her classmates to help her fight demons (most notably in Graduation day) she indirectly caused many deaths. Nitpicking I know, but also having Anya along in "Chosen" lead directly to her death.
So no murder charges, but definite grounds for manslaughter :ponder:

Hmmm: zombie-god or vampire-god? Interesting choice for a sunny day :ponder: Have to assume she's technically deaded, for the First to have borrowed her, I suppose, but since she's the hell-god of an entire dimension, and the First is only the first evil on one tiny blue-green planet, shouldn't she outrank it? (perhaps too much sun... :yahoo: )
prophecy girl - September 13, 2005 08:24 AM (GMT)
ben would be a vampire but then he would be also dead (his soul gone) ... so glory would be still dead ... i think
CHOSEN-ONE - September 13, 2005 09:47 AM (GMT)
i think the only humans buffy killed were the knights, she didnt actually kill any of the others. :)
prophecy girl - September 13, 2005 09:49 AM (GMT)
was caleb human (or tainted as he had merged with the first)? :ponder:
anyway that was defintitly self defence
Mehitabel - September 13, 2005 09:49 AM (GMT)
And they started it!

Which brings us to Slayers being enhanced with demonness....but still human, right?
prophecy girl - September 13, 2005 09:53 AM (GMT)
well we don't know what kind of demon it was (evil or uber evil) :ponder:

Too bad Buffy was too grossed out to ask, when she had the chance.
prophecy girl - September 13, 2005 10:18 AM (GMT)
maybe the council know ........... oh wait council went baoum with all the books and files ... opsie
Mehitabel - September 13, 2005 10:27 AM (GMT)
Hmm- if the Slayer is therefore part demon (or demon-turbo-charged) the Council would have had to be very dumb not to have passed this quite useful information down the ages, or to have worked it out. ('Now then dear, all you have to do is exactly as we say, and dont worry when you get killed, as it's a super-mystical vampire-arse-kicking demonic amoeba thingie which gives you your edge, and it's really quite adaptable.)
On the other hand, it's the sort of pep-talk the'd probably quite like.
:ponder:

yeah but spike chip always worked on buffy ............... well until season six ............
i am still wondering how that chip was w**king .... :ponder:

And I'm now wondering how you managed to say 'worked' without the censors kicking in
How's this: Buffy is 100% human so the chip works. She's also some woolly % turbo-charged with demonness... So there's a bit of a problem.
1) The smokey demony stuff the 3 Unwise Men tried to shove into Buffy was the last of its line. As extince, it wouldnt have been included in the Initiative's Big Boys' Book of All Known Nasties.
OR
2) It's like liqueur coffee. The booze makes you drunk, the coffee sobers you up. SIMULTANEOUSLY. Depends on the exact mix which actually kicks in. I know which I prefer though.
3) OR: Writers having an off day.
Take you pick, petal.
The last watcher - September 14, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
I think 'worked' works, as does works, but when the filters w**king w**k wont w**k....ok :)
I'd like to say it was one of the others....but its probably No3 :ponder:
prophecy girl - September 15, 2005 08:26 AM (GMT)
like number 3 too  :lmao:
Mehitabel - September 15, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
Can't blame a girl for trying :innocent:
TV Crazy - September 15, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
No. 3 does seem most likely, as there are similar writers mistakes, like they decided the first couldn't touch, but in lessons Dru touched Spike and in CWDP Cassie/Tara/The First touched the desk. I've still never thought of a logical explanation for that one.
Ems :)

I suppose you could argue that it didn't touch them, it just stopped it's hand before it went through them, shattering the illusion.
TV Crazy - September 15, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
But Spike seemed to react to Dru/The First's touch. That could be argued with touching objects and not people though.
Ems :)
