A Firefly Documentary
Firefly

Since its preview at WonderCon this February, fans of the Firefly series, also known as Browncoats, have been awaiting the documentary titled Done the Impossible.

When a cancelled series gets the support— and DVD sales — to push the story into a feature film, some people have taken the time to celebrate.

Firefly Doc- Done the Impossible

Joss Whedon found a dream come true when Universal Pictures gave the director the greenlight for a feature film that amounted to a series finale for the first season of Firefly. Titled Serenity, the film served as a triumph for small fans and Browncoats alike.

The story of the rise and fall and rebirth of the cult TV show Firefly, as told from the perspective of the fans who helped save it.

Firefly has grown beyond just the genius of Joss Whedon — just as he intended it to. In many ways the words Firefly and Browncoat have come to symbolize a sense of community, family, and believing that the impossible can be accomplished. These concepts are at the very heart of Firefly and of its fans.

In this documentary, the fans explain what inspired them to become passionate about Firefly, to help save Firefly, attend shindigs, participate in message boards, donate to charities, and become Serenity extras. They talk about the many ways that Firefly has affected their lives. Cast and crew also share humorous and insightful experiences with the fans.

Serenity was a very entertaining piece of w**k in a very cool and fresh genre. After watching the film I had become interested in the Firefly series and will always be cheering for a sequel. However, if Whedon is unable to secure a second season of Firefly, this documentary may be the last piece of media for the franchise.

Learn all about Done the Impossible by going to the official site.

The DVD sales for Firefly was a major factor in helping Whedon see green for a feature film. Hopefullly the combined sales of all the DVDs will further push the franchise for either a new season or a sequel.

Stay tuned for updates.
