We brought you the announcement about Babylon 5: The Movies a few weeks ago: five B5 telefilms in a box set. Besides "The Gathering", "In the Beginning", "Thirdspace", "River of Souls", and "A Call to Arms", this package will be fleshed out with commentary tracks by by Creator J. Michael Straczynski, plus cast and crew, on all five features. Folks who own Babylon 5 - The Gathering/In The Beginning may want to find new homes for them, because at this time the new release will be the only way to get the commentaries, the other 3 shows, plus other supplements such as intros for each by JMS, and a new featurette called "Creating the Future". This will be available to buy on Aug. 17th. A sixth telefilm, "Legend of the Rangers", has been said by JMS to be left out of this set because it "will be a separate DVD since it's really not a part of what comprised the original B5 movies". A shame they didn't include the LOTR movie but I guess I can see where Joe's coming from on that one.

Except the 'redesign' with Season 4 means the sets from S4 onwards look out of place compared to the S1-3 sets... :rolleyes:

I really don't like the Americanized slimline individual DVD cases. They're just cheap and nasty :(

The R1 version of Firefly has the same cases. I kinda liked them in that set, but this one annoys me cos of the change to the slip case. Even the "5" on the side is bigger <_< :rolleyes:

I got the Region 1 edition of Firefly as well.
If it's any consolation, the Americans have had the same problem, my B5 Season 1 Region 1 release has the same packaging as our first three seasons, so theirs have changed as well :rolleyes:
